Good review. I would add the Tech 7 enduro dry star boots to try. They are the best I have worn. Waterproof membrane is worth it!

I went from Fox instinct to Alpinestars Tech 7, 100% a better boot with a great feel out of the box. Thanks for the honest review 👍

The AXO A2 was, and is a very good boot. So comfortable and well built. Unfortunately parts are hard to find.

The Gaerne SG12 is by far the best boot for me. I bought a well used, couple of year old pair for $40 and they're still holding up great. Absolute beast of a boot.

$600 for boots? Lol. You’re living a far different life than I. Props to you. Keep doing what you love. Appreciate the info either way.

I too was a big fan of the Alpinestar 7 boots, but try this. Take one of the boots and force it to the outside, (buckle side) and where it folds above the second buckle is where you will break your fibula. I will be upgrading.

Every review I see puts Gaerne at the top. Made in Italy, not outsourced, quality kit. They'll be my next boot :)

I bought Alpinestar tech 7 my cousin bought Fox boots. Fox boots didn't even last a year tech 7's and 5 years and still going. multiply cheap Fox boots by 5 and you save money by buying alpinestar tech 7's

I seem to like the bottom of the line cheap boots. They are lighter more flexible and comfortable. My expensive heavy stiff boots just sit in the garage. Also stiff boots transfer more energy to your knees, making knee braces mandatory.

Bought alpinestars tech 7 enduro daystar and I love them, they're really comfortable out of the box, have ton of support. A lot of room in this foot, I'm a size 13 and always had problems finding comfortable boots (because I always went for fox) and this tech 7 fit like a glove, I don't think I'm ever buying anything else (besides maybe those sg12 look pretty sweet)

Give the tech 10s a go! You will love them. I love being able to wash the inner booties.

+1 for the Tech 7's, best boot I have worn, comfortable and very high quality.

my forma dominator2 are 7 years old - they are bullet proof, nothing has broken in mx racing, hare and hounds and thousands of miles of miles of enduro and green laning in uk countryside which is rock, ruts, bad weather so loads of mud and so on - got shoe that fits inside, very comfy - supremely strong boot with SOOOOooo much stability and zero side wobble etc - bit heavy yeah you know you have them on as they are stiff BUT offer more protection than a tank, the pivot area at the rear is massive and just so damn strong, metal at the front etc - my god i would recommend to anyone especially if you ride nasty terrain that can grab and twist ankles, thse boots will rip trees out the ground before they bend your ankle 🙂

No Tech 7's in this comparison?? Tech 7 Enduro's are the way to go. Now they have the Tech 7 Enduro Dry Star. (Waterproof). That will be my next boot.

Fox Instincts are what I crushed my foot wearing. Broke my big toe into 7 pieces and massive bruising up to my knee. Went to SG-12s which were wildly better but after about 60 hours of racing they're falling apart. Forma Predator 2.0 Enduro are my next go to. Super comfortable right out of the box with the same certs as the Gaerne at a better price.

I dont ride as hard as you do anymore. I love my Gaerne trials boots for brake pedal feel and walking around. Alpinestars are like ski boots to me.

After using my Gx1’s for 3 years they were very soft and i ended up spraining my ankle on a hill climb. That was the point where i decided i needed better boots. After already having a good experience with gaerne boots and hearing a lot of good things about them, i got the Sg12’s. I immediately noticed how stiff they were and how much more supported and safer i felt. Of course feeling the brake and shifter at first was difficult and resulted in a lot of accidental neutrals but i love these boots. I am going to wear these boots for many years and when the time comes to replace them, i will get them again. Also, red and white boots ftw.
