Those U P locks are certainly an interesting idea, I will give them props for being slightly harder to pick open

Great video Jason thanks for videos. 😎

Cool in theory, but as you said, kind of finicky! Houdini makes everything better! :-) Appreciate the demonstration Jason, thanks!

The newer UP series are a lot easier to key and the cores don't pull out like this. I think you did a video on this a while back, and I adapted your technique with the flat head and have been using it ever since.

Hahaha, I was going to comment on your product facing skills

My boss has these at the shop, but I've never been a big fan of them. However, your clever crimping solution at the end certainly taught me something new and I'm going to show my boss right away. So thanks for sharing your solution. (And now I like these padlocks a bit more than before.)

Cool Video, I've never seen this particular method to rekey a lock.
Are there other manufacturers that have the same method or is this a Master exclusive system?
Have a great week👍😀✌️

Hi Jason.
Thanks for taking the time to do this video.
I never knew you could do this with a padlock.

Interesting didn't know that thay needs to be done. Master padlocks aren't that popular in Australia

First time I did one of these I practically drove the core through the other side of the lock. Lol.

Love that large pair of "master keys" you had on your bench. Common problem around my area

doesn't master make smaller laminated replaceable cylinder locks? Not sure what number they used to be.

Don't mean to bombard you with questions but I've got another one. With me being a well-trained automotive service tech, would those sort of skills transfer over to locksmithing? Troubleshooting, diagnosing issues, extremely high mechanical ability, problem solving skills, extremely detail oriented, etc...?

I forget those existed! They seem so "Rube Goldberg". Do they actually hold up halfway decent?

I just bought some kik cylinders off ebay for picking practice that were like this.
I just about lost my mind trying to pick and shim them open, I didn't realize what
they were until I filed off the top cap and dumped them out. I have no idea how
you are supposed to "break" them though. Does anyone know who made them?
