1: Independent Inuit/Eskimo state
2: Autonomous state
3: Inuit diaspora
4: Settled lands part of foreign state
5: Lands shared with foreign state (but not permanently settled)

Note:
Not all Inuits wants to be called Eskimos, and not all Eskimos wants to be called Inuits, hence the strange title.

There are some minor mistakes regarding the European titles

" By 1896, there were only 70 of them remaining. Then, in the fall of 1902, a British trading/whaling vessel named the Active had made a stop at Cape Low, Southampton Island. It is said that some of the Sadlermiut caught a disease, possibly an influenza, typhoid, or typhus, from a sick sailor aboard the Active, which then spread to the entire community. By the winter 1902-03, the entire Sadlermiut population except for a woman and four children had died."

A little bit of a mistake. The Sadlermiut people were thought to be Dorset at one point, but are no longer considered to be Dorset, even by the 1500s they were considered Thule. Their differences are probably better accounted for by isolation rather than being the last Dorset. since there is no genetic evidence for them being Dorset.

How did you figure this out, especially the BC part? Is the BC part based assumptions, stories or true evidence?

It would of been cool to see the dorset peoples. To bad they were 100% genocided by neo eskimos sometime between the Norse and columbus.

The Inuit are almost entirely genetically descendants of pre-2500 BC migrants related to East Asians. However, the language developed in the Americas entirely, AFTER they left mainland Asia. So they are defined as Native Americans, not Asians. Because their language developed while they were in the Americas.

Genetics ≠ culture.

That being said, they historically back migrated more often than most. Which is why some Asian people have Native American heritage.
