At the age of 25, Churchill became a Prisoner of War in the Boer War in South Africa but managed to escape on foot through 300 miles of enemy territory during a massive manhunt to capture him "dead or alive."

In the 1930s, Churchill's warnings of Hitler were dismissed as alarmist, and he was excluded from the Prime Minister's cabinet. However, on the day in 1940 that Hitler launched his invasion of France, Belgium, and Holland, Churchill was elected Prime Minister to lead his nation in their "Darkest Hour."

He had a speech impediment, yet he gave the most inspiring speeches that helped carry his country through to victory over the Nazis. He's a man who got up every time he fell down.
