A very complicated man of his times. Without Churchill England would have certainly fallen. Like all larger than life figures he comes with a lot of baggage. You have to take him in his place in history. Good and bad. A towering figure of the 20th century.

Just finished reading Erik Larson's wonderful book about Churchill's first year as Prime Minister, "The Splendid and the Vile", a great page turner. Am looking forward to seeing this series as a follow up to that.

Winston Churchill showed the world what the British were made of in World War II. He alone had the courage to send small ships and fishing boats to rescue the soldiers at Dunkirk. Churchill's "We will never surrender" speech sent the message to the entire island that they were going to defend themselves, since no one was going to help them. He was very clear when he said "Probably for years, probably alone" that he knew that no one was going to help England. He was the best strategist of the Second World War, a minister of war and the free world will remember him forever.

While Churchill might be considered a savior for the British people, for Indians he was seen as a butcher and a cold-blooded oppressor. As an Indian, we still bear the scars of his actions from that era. There is no respect or honor for him, and an Indian will never bow before the English crown again

Another well made document although I will love to see a WW2 documentary starring the British Raj, ANZAC, South Africa, Dominion of Canada, the kingdoms of Hungary and Romania, or Greece maybe even the Italian wins in the eastern front

After Churchill, Netflix can you do a documentary about MacArthur or even Tojo about the Pacific War... You have so many great documentaries about WW2, and it never ends because of what's happening right now😢

History is complicated. I think it’s ok to question some of the historical narratives we’ve been taught as Americans.

Churchill was a war criminal.
In India 🇮🇳
Because of Churchill policy.
The Bengal famine of 1943 killed between 800, 000 and 3.8 million people. It was one of the worst losses of civilian life on the Allied side in World War II.

An extraordinary human being, with flaws and with triumphs. Churchill is such a great human to be examined and studied about.

This documentary should mention the fraud of giving Churchill the Nobel Prize for Literature when he had only written one novel in 1900.
