I bought a saw today and I think the chaps should come with it. I don't mind paying the extra cost.

New chainsaw user here and those chaps are a great idea. Was recently cutting some small felled limbs and I got a tad careless. Lowered the saw a little too quick before the chain stopped and just knicked my right thigh. No injury but my pants got a slight tear, would have been worse if the blade was still going at a high level. You have to maintain control all the time. Those chaps are being purchased ASAP.

Also a good safe practice is allow the chainsaw 1 minute to warm up before revving the engine. This will avoid less mechanical problems in the future and promote overall longevity in the equipment

Suggest add Winter use...oil and settings on chainsaw. Also explain why traditional first cuts versus lower angle cuts as shown.
