I have a 2021 Volvo V60 with an electric tailgate. The struts work, but there is a horrible crunching sound coming from the right strut, like something is breaking. The price of a new one is very high. What do you think this sound could be doing? Could it be fixed? Thank you for your reply! ):)

I am at square zero.I detached the piston from the tailgate but the cable doesn't come out and I don't understand where I need to access to detach the connector, can you point me in the right direction?
