I keep drooling at Z lenses, but then i look at the price those lenses are going for now and it just makes me feel ill. I can easily get comparable F lenses for half the price. But they then are massive with the FTZ adapter thrown in and i bought my Z camera mainly to downsize... Oh well.

Those are pretty much my thoughts. I have all of the F-mount lenses I need for my DSLRs. I just got a Z5 and I have four lenses for it. So right now I'm pretty well covered (between the two systems). I need more Z lenses, but most of them are a bit expensive, so right now I don't think I'll buy any more of them - waiting to see what Sigma and Tamron have to offer.

Z mount are very expensive. Are all plastic, even filters thread are plastic, price are ridiculously high and noboby who look at your shots will be able to say if you used Z or F Mount. Z lens are lighter because they are low quality construction. And finaly. Most of them are made in Taïwan or Korea, not in Japan. So personaly I will stick with F mount lenses that I can use on all my body Z and F and wait decrease on Z lens

-Lot of video -> Z mount
-Focal length rarely used -> F mount
-Focal lenght the main workflow -> Z mount -> if it is extreme sports action, wait a bit to see if the Nikon Z9 can catch up...and the Z whole system is proven capable...in the future before dropping this pile of money without knowing..
-Focal lenght not for Z available( super teles/fisheye etc) -> secondhand F mount, 300/400mm f2, 8/ 500/600 f4, 0 allways find a new owner who will pay allmost what you gave for it after a few years off ownership..
