Not necessarily applicable in a dwelling, but, in my garage, I labeled all of the Romex just inside and just outside the box, and I put 1 inch numbers on each outlet to show which breaker controls them. I used Magic Marker on the Romex and mailbox numbers on the outlet and switch covers.

🔥🔥 Install by whomever.
This is similar to what I did in my house… no zip ties, tho.

I like my double-poles on the top right (all orange & 1 sleeve around both red & black), lights top left (all white), then keep receptacles together by room (yellow only) moving down from the whites, then filling across to the right… & I’ve mostly put the 20 amps in order as if you’d see them while walking thru the house from North to South. (Exception is outside receptacles are at the bottom.)

They’ve been doing that for decades, I see it on load center swaps that are 40+years old, problem is the marker eventually wears off with time and can’t read them. I think save yourself time and having a well made panel schedule on the panel cover is all you need.

As a retired Union Commercial electrician (IBEW #332), I commend Craftsmanship, take your time and do it nice, I was proud of the clean work I did. This looks nice! Good job!

Do you spell check better on labeling panels than YouTube video uploads?

What product did you use? Put these labels on the wires like this inquiring. Mind would love to know.Thank you so much.

I use a brady lable printer. If I left my hand written labels and another person looked in the panel they would have to get someone from 7 eleven to read it for them

This is a fine example of getting paid by the hour. 👍

I like that panel. I haven’t gotten myself to use zip ties in the panel. Not my style

in a residential setting won't it be years before someone opens that up again and if they do, it's probably for just a simple circuit install. not sure it's worth the time.

Doesn't matter how clean it is if it doesn't pass code.

The labeling is great, but if you're going to all the effort, write it on white tape or use a labelmaker. Sharpie bleeds across whatever the plastic is they use for romex insulation and after a couple years it's just a blurry mess, often unreadable.

This is how it’s supposed to be in every panel
