The Wendigo is the very best folklore story. A warning about the danger of greed; it's about the need to enjoy what you already have, not what you want.

"Wendingo" made me snicker all the time. It made me think it was an Australian that became a cannibal in Canada.

Sorry.

You, MrBallen and Mike at That Chapter are the highlights of my otherwise dull week , thank you for that

Stooop. Y'all really let this man say "when dingo" that many times and no one told him...
For real tho Wendigo is one of my top favorite creatures tho. They're equal parts terrifying and awesome. Can't get enough content on them, I love them.

I’m so confused on the first story, you’d think it would be pretty easy to stop a decapitated head from eating entire villages, but once the head ate them, do they chewed up remains just slide out of the neck? You’d think someone in the village would’ve thought to spike the head down where it couldn’t just “roll around and eat everyone” 🤦🏼

Great. I've been hitchhiking and camping across Canada alone. Now I'll be thinking about this tonight when I'm trying to sleep in my tent.

As a half Cherokee and half Kiowa Apache, I actually like this video. Natives know all of the other tribes horror stories meant to sew hate in our hearts from the start so no man or woman would fall for the enemy....As a half and half Native woman I honestly found that one fact/story utterly hilarious! Well done dear, well done.

Yessss. I love to hear about the native Americans wise tales. Always interested and it's always a little truth in it. I love to hear about America before it was called America.

Andrew, I am loving this post!! I happen to love hearing of Native American tales!!! While driving in the SW of America, my daughter and her friend came into contact with a possible Wendingo, but I believe it was a Kushtaka. As the being that they witnessed was able to shape-shift as a human that they knew.

Part Santee Dakota and grew up hearing stories like these from different tribes during pow wow season on the rez. If you do a part two you should include Skinwalkers and Deer Woman,
