Realistic Beginner 1 Month Etsy Results | My First Month on Etsy using AI to sell digital downloads

I fell down the "selling AI Art on Etsy" wormhole and decided to open a shop and see if all these YouTube gurus were right – can you (passively) make thousands of dollars on Etsy???

While I am not selling AI generated art, I am using AI to help me generate the items I ended up deciding to sell, originally I planned on selling trackers and spreadsheets for busy moms – I pivoted and decided to sell items geared toward homeschool moms. I’m totally happy with the results I have had so far – and as of writing this description I have climbed out of the hole I dug and I am net positive, hahah you will understand from watching what I mean but I am happy!

Although I was already attempting my hand at Etsy sales with AI, I have to give credit to @DinaLu for inspiring me to record my results for my channel. There is always something about publicly tracking results that helps me be more accountable! So be sure to check out her video after mine for more realistic digital product Etsy results.

Hey Finally!!!! Someone talking about what starting an Etsy shop is actually like! It's hard work for sure! Thanks for being straight up about the work involved in starting an Etsy store. Everyone makes everything look so easy but it's hard and it's hard to find people that show that.

I started an Etsy shop a little more than a month ago and made around 800$ in revenue with 18 sales. I run Etsy ads but most of the sales came from organic traffic, so I am very happy about it and think it is promising. However considering Etsy’s various fees on sales and the profit margin (I do print on demand) I will have a to make a lot more than that to generate a decent passive income, and that’s not often mentioned by those youtubers.
Your conversion rate is very high though (above average), so it is also very promising if it is constant like this. Good luck to you and everyone trying on an Etsy shop, that’s a lot of work but I think it can clearly be very rewarding if done properly and with consistency :)

Realistic video, Amber. I started a store selling funny mugs a month ago and have 44 listings, few views and no sales. Not running ads but I have a blog and YouTube channel and decided to do some advertising there but - not o my Etsy store. Printify started a popup store where you can use them as your supplier and save all the Etsy fees. This is new and they do no advertising and have limited things you can currently do on your store page, but they have plans to expand it. I decided to also use it and send my potential customers directly to them so I can have larger profits, Worth looking into. I mean Etsy is not sending me traffic and I keep hearing about shops getting shut down so decided to have both so I have a backup.

I think you are the first really authentic channel talking about Etsy. I am getting started at the moment as well and it's a hell more work than these gurus tell you... You can be so proud that you earned 90 Dollars in the first 30 Days. My first month is almost over and I couldn't start producing my products really because there are so many things to know and do and consider... It's really frustrating sometimes.

I really appreciate the honesty, thank you! I opened my Etsy shop last month. I spent a few weeks researching (shops, trending products, tags, everbee stats, etc), learning everything I could from each angle, designing my products to be unique and different from the rest, creating the listings, the high quality mock ups etc. I'm working on POD shirts at the moment. I noticed a lot of shops have similar designs, so I've been creating unique takes and different approaches to shirt designs, but even with my ads running, I haven't made a sale yet. There are several products in peoples carts, so that's a good sign I guess, but It's honestly discouraging. I work really hard at everything I do, and I'm also not very patient lol, but I'll keep at it. I'm currently a freelance graphic designer specializing in vehicle wrap designs. I have two kids (recently just had our second one), so I've been thinking about my next steps. My freelance career has been fun, and it's been good to me, I'm grateful, but I'm trying for a (partially) passive income approach. I just want to have more free time for my kids. When she said "They using Etsy to promote their YT Channel" i straight hit the like button. After watching thier videos I notice they always needed another video to further explain nd explain nd explain smh. I started my store this month been 7 days. My advice is Market to Friends and Family first. My mom is apart of many community event so she gonna use my shop to cater gifts for them. Trust if u cant sell to friends nd family then its better to ask for critiques. Just gotta pray that it snowballs into something more. 🙏🏾 goodluck to everyone

Good advice and love your transparency. Ads for me - not for me. I focus on SEO and now I am going to get in gear with marketing, but I am getting sales with SEO only.

Thank you for this absolutely realistic video. ❤ it’s a wonder I clicked on it, since I no longer do - I watched tons of Etsy „gurus“ only to realize that in fact almost all of them try to sell you their course and this is the real reason they earn money and their videos have nothing to do with Etsy.

This video speaks a lot of truth! There is a lot of work required for this type of business. However, I believe with enough time, effort, and grit, success is possible. It's NOT an overnight process though and people will realize this as they get started. Just as you stated, it takes research, ingenuity, and patience. I've had my store open for 2 months and have only made 1 sale. I had 1000 visits in the last 30 days. I have a really unique products so I think people are super hesitant to buy from me I'm doing POD AOP. I had 100 listings in my first month now I have over 500. I think the amount of people checking out my store suggests I will make more sales once i get some reviews. I'm still adding products once I am 90% done I will ask my family to order something and leave a review. Hopefully that will knock people off of the fence.
