Do Modern Smartphones Need a Screen Protector?

Do modern phones even need screen protectors?
So a few weeks back I dropped my car fob on my screen, and it left this little ding in the stock screen protector. And up until that moment I was happy with the stock screen protector that came with the Samsung Galaxy s10. With Gorilla Glass 6, do we even need to put a screen protector anymore? I'm going to try out the L K Screen Protector for the Samsung Galaxy S10.
Let's see how it goes!

Do you use a screen protector on your smartphone?

I bought a screen protector for my note 20, but too many bubbles. But its true, modern phones shouldn't be worrying too much about scratches

I haven't used any screen protector on my S10. It has zero scratches in it and have dropped it several times already. Phones have become more durable nowadays. I even suggested to my wife to not put a protector on her iphone 11 pro. The casing to protect the phone from impact, I believe, is enough.

If you care about micro scratching on your display then the short answer is yes put one on your device. If you like your device actually feeling responsive and premium then use it as intended and be careful with it. The micro scratches really aren't a huge issue even if they're annoying. You can't see them when the display is on

As a budding artist, both on my phone, and my tablet, I do use a screen protector. I can get them frosted, , or high sheen. (Both have a different drag or feel using the nib.. Protective screens have come a long way as well. The whole point of a protector is to negate an impact and spread the shock, across itself, rather than let the impact penetrate, into the phones glass. That's why they break. It is literally absorbing the impact. And they are cheap today. A good quality screen is way better than the glass, plastic protectors, from 5 to 10 years ago. If I feel a crack, or chip while I am drawing, I just replace the protector, rather than the glass itself. ( which I am sure is much more costly, no matter how good it is. Cheap insurance.

I put tempered glass screen protectors on my phone. Never get air bubbles, screen protector is completely clear (easy to forget its on), very smooth touch, and I get extra peace of mind. I’m also one of those people who throws on a pretty chunky case. Haven’t broken a phone in many year’s. Knock on wood :)

I spent quite a lot of money on screen protector but I never manage to apply them properly so I end up not using one because its annoying with bubbles ._.

It feels so much safer with a screen protector on your phone. Yes I am always careful with my electronics. But I typically upgrade my phone every 4 years, and within 4 years having your phone dropped face-flat on concrete is inevitable. It happens. But a screen protector makes the damage less severe.
Plus- screen protectors give the phone a little bit of extra protection from spilt hot drinks and such. The only problem I see with a screen protector is that it's hard to find the right one

I had and still have my old S6 Edge and S7 Edge, and just as yours i never had any protector because none would stick on a curved screen, and they both had 0 scratches.Had an iPhone 11 and that thing was scratching by being in my pocket, no other objects or dirt was in the pocket either lol

I've had my oneplus for almost 5 years and have used no screen protector. Dropped it several times and had it with my keys. Zero scratches and I am gonna be selling it. Gorilla glass is just better.

My fresh s20+ annoys me every time i tap to unlock by the fingerprint sensor. I think the pre-applied screen protector is blocking its sensor.

My "installations" look like that, even the ones that promise "bubble free" (yeah right) installations. Only, at the end of the day, the remaining bubbles rarely, if ever "go away!"
That said, I like the LK Protectors, I had one "professionally installed" on my last Sony phone, so bought some for my new Samsung phone and did the same thing, but this resulted in 3 attempts and bubbles every time. So, I bought some from a company called "Pullen" which came with a Guide Frame.
Much easier to install, but still bubbles along the side, so I'm thinking of just saying bugger it and going naked.
Only, I know that if my Screen got scratched up, I'd hate it more than the bubbles! 😒😉

I don't use a screen protector for my Galaxy S7. (Yup. Still rocking the S7.)

Never really found a need, but maybe I should, just in case.

Screen protectors destroy the feel n hampers the experience.. Modern screen wont scratch easily and. if the display breaks then having a protector doesnt do much good. A case protects the screen better
