2017 Dodge Viper ACR ( Top Speed Test)

The 2017 Dodge Viper ACR was one of the last viper model's to ever cross the production line with a theoretical top speed of 177 mph. To our surprise the claimed top speed was identical to the previous Viper ACR model, even though this generation came with an extra 45 hp and 40 lb-ft of torque. Most people might argue that this is not enough of a power difference to make noticeable top speed increases. Well, we have found that even just removing air filters from air filter boxes can increase top speed numbers by up to 3 mph.

In this video you can see the Viper completely hits an aerodynamic wall at 180 mph due to its massive Aero package from the factory. The most interesting part about this test was the overall stability of the vehicle at such high speeds.

The 2008 ACR-X did 186mph. I guess the VX chassis has more downforce than the ZB II chassis.
