If you blindly support a thought, movement, person, or authority without ever questioning it, then you may have a herd mentality. But, should you do what everyone else is doing or think for yourself? When making decisions, it's natural to want to see what other people are doing. However, the path taken by the majority may not always be best for us. Just because everyone else seems to be doing something doesn't mean that you should do it too.

The psychology of herd mentality (also knowns as mob mentality) reveals how people can be influenced by their peers and society on an emotional rather than rational basis. Of course, there are times when you should follow the crowd as it has merit. But other times, herd behavior can lead us down the wrong path.

So it's important that you learn how to think for yourself and evaluate whether your choices are really yours or if they're influenced by others. Independent thinking allows you to make the right decisions for you.

Having an intrapersonal intelligence is a great advantage in this age and society that is trying you to be someone that you're really not. Comparison kills purpose. The only one we need to compare ourselves with is our former self. Listen to the crowd, but follow your gut instinct, your intuition.

I'm glad that I've never been a 'follow the crowd' sort. As a child I was actually reprimanded for continually asking "why?" ....but I've never stopped asking that!! I do consult with others who I respect regarding opinions but always folow my own gut feelings. Nice to hear this put so clearly. Love your channel thanks. 💖

Catch 22. I feel like a lot of people watching this aren't of the Herd Mentality (at least judging from the comments) but the ones that need to see this video probably will never? Or If they watch it they will immediately be dismissive of what is being said; May even make excuses as to why the follow others...But this video was super informative. Thank you!
