I love how realistic and quiet yet the most gut wrenching movie aftersun is. This movie broke me so much, Charlotte Wells chose the right characters for this film👏🎬

Whats so powerful is the slow fading of him watching them sing into his weaping, but the audio is so harsh with the switch. Like, it's almost immediate that the singing leads into his weaping in the audio, but we watch this dark room, him turned away slowly take over the screen of the previous shot of him standing on top of the "mountain" physically & metaphorically. It's like being body slammed with trauma while enduring a new feeling of joy, so powerful, mescal is the goat

Heartbreaking and beautiful dissolve scene.. i'm pretty sure someone who lost one's family or close friend should have been struggling alot watching this movie
Trying to see the other side of one's appearance of the person after you can't clarify anymore comes down to a failure because you have to reinterpret on your own with thousands of piece of puzzle. Aftersun shows this paradoxical point so well.
