Colors in Japanese

Oh my freaking lord it's the actual Japanese word for orange! Why is that word so elusive? I would ask Japanese people what's the Japanese word for orange that's not オレンジ and they answer me like I'm crazy like "why do you wanna know? Just use オレンジ "🤦‍♀️

Pretty cute. I read that green plants and vegetables are often said to be the color blue. Is that true? So Aomori prefecture is called “Blue Forest” but that actually translates to “Green Forest”?

So I'm a little confused. I always thought midori was officially green, but here it's looking like a greenish blue and he says official green is ki midori. Help with explanation please!

mizu iro - color of water but water is colorless. If it said umi iro - color of the sea then that would make sense since a large body of water gets it's "color" by reflecting the sky

For whoever is interested in Pitch Accent - The pitch accent for みどり、 オレンジ、くろ、きみどり、あお and むらさき are incorrect in this video.

the correct pitch patterns should be - みどり、くろ、あお、are all 頭高、オレンジ、きみどり、むらさき、are all 中高。
