This sequel is a breezy, often funny second outing for Billy Batson and his family of young heroes. Each of the villainous Atlassian Daughters brings something unique to the screen (to the plot’s mixed benefit) and Helen Mirren’s performance stands out, but it’s disappointing that the distinctive heart of the first film takes a back seat to that expanded scope. The lack of focus on its lead character works against Fury of the Gods throughout, but it’s a testament to the strong foundation this movie’s built on that the assembled ensemble is able to share some of that burden.

Saw it last night. It wasn’t a bad movie. Wasn’t convoluted, the stakes was high, showcased the family more so than just Shazam, Mirren killed her role, Lui was convincingly evil, the monsters looked disgusting and fantastic, and the movie didn’t really waste time. 8 outta 10

this should have been a tv series because the kids are growing so fast. We could have gotten more adventures with this family.

If you go into the movie with no expectations and just keep biad out of it, you're going to enjoy it. It's not an award winning performance but it was still a lot of fun. Had a great time with Shazam! 👍

Just watched it with my son. We loved it. Loved seeing the family work together in and out of uniform. Enjoyed the story. Really enjoyed seeing more of the Rock of Eternity and Wizard. Great end fight. Loved the cameos. Solid 8/10.

Billy Batson seems more mature than his superhero alter-ego Shazam, who still acts like a kid. The actor is now 20 years old, and Billy is 17 in the film. How does a Shazam film work with an adult Billy Batson?
