**NG+7 (JOURNEY 8) IS THE MAX DIFFICULTY/SOUL GAIN**

Hi all! Just a quick guide on the leveling system in Dark Souls III. This is for those that are quite lost and dont know what to do after endgame, and if you already know this, this is for if you forgot.

The maximum level in Dark Souls III will be 802, In order to get to this maximum level we can utilize the famous farming route given to us on top of the Grand Archives rooftop. This will help us get most of the levels down until you have had enough and want to start going through the NG cycles and getting the free levels off of Yoel. It is highly advised to maximise the most levels via soul gain and when the souls required drops off to a ridiculous amount where you feel the payoff is wasting your time, use the rest of the remaining levels on Yoel.

Start at the Grand Archives bonfire with the appropriate gear. Shield Of Want Mendicants Staff Symbol Of Avarice Covetous Silver Serpent Ring +3. Follow the equipment layout I have in the video and use rapport on the first single Golden Winged Knight that drops down from the left. That alcove is safety, next use rapport on the group beside and go in for the first backstab on the single knight, while they are having it out, you can use this time to back stab chain the allured single winged knight to death. Note after the second backstab is when one of the two knights fighting usually perishes so have the Mendicants Staff out to catch the bonus souls from the 2 winged knights duking it out and then finish the single one off with the final back stab and swap out to staff appropriatley after each fatality.

Make sure after each kill you swap your weapon out to the soul gaining item for maximum soul recieval.

Every hour you will consistantley be recieving 10 million souls. It will take you around 300 hours of raw pure game time to farm souls this way to max level. You can cut that time in half via going through the NG levels with Yoel.

If you have any questions please feel free to leave a comment!

Thank you!

Hey I'm currently doing your farming strategy and I'm enjoying it, but while farming I decided to try it with a dark dagger instead of a chaos one and I'm able to two shot them. The damage for one hit is 1986. I thought I should let you all know.

Getting to max level in any SoulsBorne game is one of things you say to yourself "Sure, I can do it. But should I?".

It's crazy that the last 300 levels do almost nothing and cost so many souls to get

Omg this is what I've always done!! Its quite literally an unmatched method. Also I ended up doing this by myself. I wouldn't say i am the creator but I used this method without searching it up.

Hi! I'm trying to do this as well and i recommend if you have nothing to do or have spare time, I'm at around SL147 as of right now, with the mendicants staff i recommend 'Hidden Body' sorcery just before going on to the roof if your paranoid like me and don't want to lose all your souls. Stick to the Grind.

Only seen this video now, and thank you, finally someone who actually knows the best farming method, this was the same strategy that I used with my max level character.
Only thing is, the winged knights are weak to dark damage, so the dark dagger is the better option

Good video, nice and short and the details are in the description, that's how a guide should be.

A few critical notes for those attempting this...

You MUST be ACTIVELY holding the Mendicant's Staff and Shield of Want during the final blow to have their effects apply and maximize the souls gained per kill. This means that, with the staff, you have to at least have the staff equipped and able to do enough damage to get the final blow after doing damage using the method mentioned in this video with the dagger (or really any weapon you choose) to get the health down low enough (while Rapport is applied, as I prefer this to the ring that hides their awareness while they are behind you) to have one blow from the staff finish the job. This requires at least 18 INT.

The differences in Souls gained are as follows on a FIRST RUN, NOT NG+1, NG+2, etc. (assuming you have the Symbol of Avarice and Covetous Silver Serpent Ring +3 equipped):
- Shield and Staff Equipped: 37, 908 Souls Per Kill
- Only Shield Equipped: 31, 590
- Neither Equipped: 26, 325

Starting off, as my INT was below 18, I netted 101, 088 souls per run (37, 908 + 31, 590*2, as my INT was initially too low to even deal a final blow with the staff on the latter two dudes). Equating to 50, 544 per minute on average. In an hour, that's 3.0M+ souls. Once you get the INT up to 18 and find a good enough attack with the staff to deal a good enough final blow, you'll be closer to an average of 3.4M+ souls per hour.

A few other notes to speed up each run to right under 2 minutes:
- When going up the lift, before getting off at the top, run over the trigger mechanism again so it begins going down right when you get off. This will save you a lever pull and waiting for the elevator to come back down each time going back up.
- Cast Rapport on ONE as soon as the enemies fly down, WHILE you are just barely under the small archway, and immediately switch to the Staff equipped while they duke it out.
- Once one of them gets killed, cast rapport on the remaining dude if he still sees you as an enemy and take him out, ideally with the final blow coming from the staff.
- Cast Rapport on the last guy on the other side and do your thing, again, with the staff doing the final blow.

Best thing to do is play it safe, but "optimized, " as you don't want to lose 1M+ souls and then fetch them again (stressful).

I switched to dark infusion and dark clutch ring and I did 700 more damage on backstab, I did some research and foud out they are weak against dark and resistance against fire.

Okay so I've always been confused on this, does two shields or two staves stack? If they do, why not use the better bewteen the two twice, if they don't then I can understand why one of each is best

Found the spot through.. I think this video's thumbnail. But didn't watch it.

Then naturally stunbled across the greatness of rapport myself. I think my character is around.. level 170 ish now, and I can around 4 shot each of these with a black fire orb.

I usually run in, sit back in the archway, rapport the front guy, then spam the fire orbs which collatorals the other usually (though sometimes they escape and kill me.)

Then just rapport and gib the last guy.

Stay in the bottom layer as much possible, because as long as you don't pass the second stone slab innthe upper area, they don't drop down and your souls are basically saved.

I also save elevator time by going behind it and running over the button.

Small stuff like that makes grinding this a

Also....use Rapport pyromancy on the axe dude first. He will take out one for you.

Proceed with rest of said method. Maked this run so easy.

If you are a paranoid player. Or have low hp. Use hidden body scorcery also 👊

Very late to the party, but there we are lol
