I used mine to cut nylon strings off of galvanized pipe at work. It cut like a champ. I have the blue and orange, it's really cool looking. I have several knives with D2 and I have had 0 issues with rust or staining.

BS4- Steel Will is a US company that has their knives made in China, Italy and Taiwan. I had the Apostate made in Taiwan and it was a great knife. They have been around a few years. Knifenews named them a company to watch in 2017 and they certainly came through. They have a new proprietary lock called the ant-lock coming out. Definitely a emerging mover in the knife world. I have to plug the Bestech budget line also. G-10, D2 on ball bearings for $50-$55 bucks. Great knives also. Another great video from the first couple of the knife world.

I prefer the blade style on my cutjack and its finger choil but it's just a matter of preference. The cutjack has become one of my favorite budget EDC.

I bought both the Cutjack and the Cutjack mini with the FRN handles. I use the mini when I wear a suit, and the regular sized one when wearing jeans. With the Modus being sized in between these two I don't expect they'll come out with a Modus mini, but any one of these three is an awesome EDC blade. One thing the Cutjack has which the Modus doesn't is a full finger choil.

I just ordered one last night. I debated on getting the M390 version. I'm glad I didn't after seeing the video Cedric and Ada video on the M 390 version.

Nice review, I love my Modus in the hand, but love my Rat 2 in the pocket. The Rat2 has deep carry clip options, I’ve seen no after market clips yet for the Steel Will knives, Rat 2 is also less tall, so it’s easier to reach past it. Both are available in D2 of course.

I am a little old school, I have high carbon blades and love them. D2 is one of my favorite steels right know. Going to order 1 if I like it then more for gifts.

I picked one up a few weeks ago, selecting this over the cutjack because I liked the blade shape better . . . my new favorite EDC!!! Only thing I wish is that the scale was smoothed out under the pocket clip, but that's minor.

I got my Cutjack mini frn this week. And I love it, I'll definitely pick up a modus in the future.

I really like the modus, it's in my pocket right now, and I thought just like you, it's the new budget champ. I thought that for about a week, until I bought a budget bestech, the scimitar ($42 for the whole line on amazon). D2 steel, ceramic bearings and detent, contoured g-10 scales and skeletonized liners. It crushes the modus.

The Modus is the best of the new budget blades. It's a step up from both the Cutjack C22 and C22M, but it still doesn't beat the D2 RAT 2 as an unobtrusive EDC blade. I do have the blue/orange Modus and it's gorgeous.
