For the ones who don't know the México one: there's a communist faction on Chiapas that is communist, they are actually fine and they are free of Cartel influences

Finally someone adds the event of the EZLN guerrilla to one of these videos about the nineties, thanks for including it

It’s crazy to think, the world changed so much in the 90s. USSR collapsed, Germany reunited, Balkans erupting for the millionth time that century, I was born in 2004 and I never realized how close my birth was to these incredibly important moments in history.

90's UK and Japan are such a vibe

Here in Brazil during the 1990s they were very good years, our people, even though they were poor, were much happier, friendly, humble people, we shared television to watch football games, movies, cartoons, soap operas, the Brazilian people were always having parties on weekends, our childhood was very fun, it didn't have the violence that it had during the 2000s, in short, Brazil is a wonderful country despite everything.

Little did 90s America know a plane and a tower would start a downward spiral

I feel like japan was in its own little universe from the mid 80s to late 90s. The whole country was a whole fucking vibe in that period, and to some extent, still is.

Edit: Please wear a hazmat suit and proper protection before going into the replies of this comment.

I didn't knew back then as i was a child and i actually learned all this as an adult but the 90's were dark times for Mexico, it all started in 94 when the EZLN rised in Chiapas, then the assassination of Luis Donaldo Colosio (a candidate for the presidential elections) which lead to a huge political instability and then one of the greatest economic crisis in Mexico's history, the criminality also rised to its highest which actually continues to do so and the funny thing is that in my memories, those were good happy times but this actually means we were the lucky few that went through the 90's without struggling, it's strange how you perceive the reality when you grow in a bubble.

as a person from a post-soviet country, when i was little i was always shocked to see americans in the 80-90s being so modern and happy. mostly cause my parents always told me about those dark times, i was in my mama's womb during the 2008 war, and even now our country is being controlled by russia after gaining freedom. when i tell you 10 year old me GASPED after realizing that ppl from other countries live differently 💀

My USA 90’s experience was just playing game boy in the back seat, listening to Casey Kasem, while my mom tore ass around Texas in her Firebird back when this state was still empty as fuck. Shit was cash money

You got Japan wrong, the 90s of Japan is remembered as the start of nationwide austerity and hardship as the Japanese economy collapsed and has so far never fully recovered, its still so deflated that the BoJ is giving banks money to take out loans from the Central Bank in efforts to try and reflate the economy.
This isn't to mention durring this time, hundreds of businesses were filling for bankruptcy or forced to close up leavening thousands jobless and even homeless, and this hit the Japanese entertainment industry the most as people had less money to spend, causing the death of multiple Anime studio and generally the slowdown on release of the numbers of Japanese animations so it's also ironic that theres also a weeb for Japan.
