I've heard this song all of my life being catholic but I never make out what they were saying, only "Hark the Harold Angel Sing, Christ is Born in Bethlehem". I am now reborn again in Christ since I've lost my way for many, many, many ears. Now I pay extra attention to things like these and I decided to actually look up the lyrics to this song after hearing a beautiful rendition of it on the radio. When I played the video and read the lyrics, I was just struck of how absolutely beautiful the words were for our Lord Jesus Christ. Whoever wrote this song did a outstanding (understatement) job on honoring our Lord and His Birthday. Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. I love you Jesus.

"Pleased as man, with man to dwell. Jesus our Emmanuel." I remember singing this as a child and recognising something very special in the words, but not being able to understand them. It was only at the age of 40, when I was born again that the beautiful truth of the words came into focus. Now when I hear it, the nostalgia and happy memories of childhood mix with the truth of the gospel. It's truly marvellous.

Christmas has always been special to me and the carols always gave me such joy. But ever since I have been saved by Gods Grace and my sanctification has grown my love for Christ has grown, and this special song to me has way more meaning. If we men knew what it means for the second member of the God head to become man and die for our sins under the wrath of his father for our forgiveness we would be in worship all the time. I'm not religious, but I did go to a (nominally) Anglican school where we sang hymns in assembly and, in December, Christmas carols—and this was always my favourite. Still gives me that cosy glow of nostalgia: the school hall first thing in the morning, frost on the ground outside, the hiss of the radiators and the slightly wonky tree up by the stage next to Mr. Parry's piano.

I remember singing this in 6th grade choir at a night time performance for all the parents. Love this song and this is a very good rentition. Angels We Have Heard On High is another must for Christmas.
