"At Ashford, my father won."

Ah, I love the smell of Tyrell propaganda in the morning.

It's really interesting how opinions on the event and the participants varies by each viewpoints. Margaery sees their actions as reasonable and patient while Stannis saw them as turncoat cowards. These lores really really demonstrate how history can be perceived, depending on who's telling it.

I hope Natalie Dormer starts doing voice over work as well as acting.  This narration was very entertaining, most likely due to her charismatic voice.

The Starks fell to the Targaryens in defeat?

They wisely knelt before the unstoppable power of the dragons! The North fell neither to the Andals or the Targaryens. Torrhen Stark saw that victory was impossible and surrendered. There was no battle to be defeated in.

Damn Tyrell propoganda!

This is why I like House Tyrell.  They don't waste time and effort trying to gain the greatest glory or immediate success, they take their time and play the odds so there is no possible outcome where they lose.  Plus they also realize that true power comes from the hand that feeds you, not honor or gold.

Clever Mace. Chose a relatively uncontested target (Storm's End) over actual fighting. Looks like he's doing 'something' to show loyalty to the Targs', but not too much that if they lost, he'd be in trouble for committing to one side too much.

Yes in theory mace tyrell did defeat robert baratheon, but it was actually Randyll Tarly whose men were in the vanguard were actually responsible in defeating Robert. This makes Randyll prolly the best battle commander.

House Tyrell is very intelligent and resourceful :) Margaery is a good narrator! The back histories of Westeros are all astounding :D I enjoyed the first book and look forward to reading the rest and learn more about the Tyrells too.

The Tyrells walk when they should run, hold instead of pull and whisper when they should scream.

Margarey was obviously told all this by the lord as Tywin has put it Robb Stark has won more battles in a year than the lord of highgarden won in twenty and Tyrell technically was like Walder Frey and came at ashFord when the battle was already won by randyl Tarly.
Not even olenna believed they could’ve taken storms end by force
