just follow the instruction!

If you fell for this crap, do the following to fix it:

Go back to Start - Run - Regedit

In Registry Editor, go to

Right-click on the Software folder, select New - Key and name the new folder DirectX

Within this new folder, created the following keys (Right-click and New anywhere on the right side of the Registry Editor window):

New Binary Value, name InstalledVersion, value 00, 00, 00, 09, 00, 00, 00, 00
New String Value, name Version, value 4.09.00.0904

Past Directx 9 Regedit(programs) on desk and Repast in Regedit :))) it's Work For Me i have enter in execute DXDIAG and my version of directx has ... Directx 9.c thank dude

That's the thing. You can't. Once you delete it, DirectX cannot be reinstalled, you have to create an artificial registry, try it some time.

GUYS, NEVER REMOVE REGISTRY FILES!! If you alredy did, restore your computer to an earlier time!

DO NOT USE THIS. THIS VIDEO SHOULD BE TAKEN DOWN. Seriously though, unless you're dumb like me, do not delete your DirectX registry files, you cannot reinstall if this happens. DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS. Unless you want to spend hours banging your head against a keyboard and searching tech support. If you already did this though, message me for a link to the tech support article I used to fix it.

I dont think so but how do I check for a reg backup? recently I tried to play a game and it says I need direct x and I try to install it and it says refer to directx log (its gone or rather empty) and internal error system. Do you know if completely restoring my pc would help?

if u did this (i didnt ) but if some 1 did.Tip before watching and doing as some vids like this always watch the comments cuz u can see if vid works.2 if u did like vid say i think the best thing wloud be to take comp to the the condition u got it (like set to factory setting witch means u get your com back to how it got out of it with like some programs anti virus and such of corse if you know some 1 who can fix it always ask them and ask them is this what i sayd is good if i am wrong then sry.

@wasitrealy Maybe they need to replace it, and it cannot be done by just installing another one... Example I have a problem, I got DirectX 10 and need 9 because game does not find this DirectX10... Need to delete DirectX 10 so I can install 9

Just download another directX thats not hard as banging yourself to the keyboard or serching the tec support!!!
