Really love this song. Heard it the first time just three days after my Dad passed away, and man it hit me hard. I needed something that felt like a celebration of loved ones who have passed on. I do agree that sometimes songs take a bit of time to grow on you, and it is probably best to let some time pass before you rank a song. But I think this one, because of the emotions involved when I first heard it, will remain a favorite of mine for the long run. Overall it would be hard to narrow down a top 10 list. But honestly, I think I'd have to put 'Brilliant Disguise' as my favorite Bruce song. I know it gets overlooked often, as does the entire 'Tunnel of Love' album. The album came out when I was 17, and it didn't really connect with me the same way 'Born in the USA' did a few years earlier. But in my late 30s I went through a divorce that took a real emotional toll on me, and that entire album really resonated with me, and has ever since. When Bruce wrote that album, he was in his late 30s and going through a divorce (and falling for Patty too), so again, my connection has a strong emotional element to it.

And I agree, miss Clarence and Danny.

You are very right and Clarence is gone though I always did live the saxophone playing on the Born to Run album. This is is a very good album and watch the video about how the songs came. About!

I had the opposite experience from you. Loved Letter to You immediately, and Ghosts grew on me with subsequent listens.

Is this song...new? I last saw Bruce at the Met Life Stadium in September of (2012? 2013?). I remember the show because it was his birthday, and the show was delayed 2 hours because of dangerous lightening in the area. My wife passed away in 2014, and it was the last concert we attended together. Anyway - he played this song at that concert, and made a big speech about Ghosts, in essence dedicating the song to Clarence Clemons and Dan Federici, two long time band members who had passed away.
