Lyrics:

I hear the sound of your guitar
Comin’ in from the mystic far
The stone and the gravel in your voice
Come in my dreams and I rejoice

It’s just your ghost
Moving through the night
Your spirit filled with light
I need, need you by my side
Your love and I’m alive

I’m alive and I can feel the blood shiver in my bones
I’m alive and I’m out here on my own
I’m alive and I’m coming’ home
Yeah I’m comin’ home

The old buckskin jacket you always wore
Hangs on the back of my bedroom door
The boots and the spurs you used to ride
Click down the hall but never arrive

It’s just your ghost
Moving through the night
Your spirit filled with light
I need, need you by my side
Your love and I’m alive

I’m alive, I can feel the blood shiver in my bones
I’m alive and I’m out here on my own
I’m alive and I’m coming’ home

Your old Fender Twin from Johnny’s Music downtown
Still set on 10 to burn this house down
Count the band in then kick into overdrive
By the end of the set we leave no one alive

Ghosts runnin’ through the night
Our spirits filled with light

I need
Need you by my side
Your love and I’m alive

I shoulder your Les Paul and finger the fretboard
I make my vows to those who’ve come before
I turn up the volume, let the spirits be my guide
Meet you brother and sister on the other side

I’m alive
I can feel the blood shiver in my bones
I’m alive and I’m out here on my own
I’m alive and I’m comin’ home
Yeah I’m comin’ home

This has to be the opener for the next tour. Absolutely has to. Imagine 50, 000 people screaming "I'm alive!" together after we make it through this shitstorm.

There are only two types of people: those who love Bruce and those who don’t know him yet.

Seeing him live for the first time this coming Wednesday. I'm 64.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why Bruce Springsteen is The Boss.

This feels like Bruce wrote a tribute to himself, the E Street Band and his fans. Absolutely stunning 💞

This song is going to be legendary live, when we can scream I'M in a packed concert.

In 1975 it was said he was the future of rock n roll, he was embarrassed ran all over london pulling down the posters. Well put those posters back up. 2020 a year so strange, people isolating countries ruled by reality stars and a 71 year old man writes a tune that sounds like this truly this is the future of rock n roll .

This comment will fade to the back of the pack but Danny Federici was my uncle. Losing him so many years ago was one of the hardest things I have ever gone through but I always know I can throw on an e street record and he is back in my home again. Tours just arent the same without seeing him up there. I really appreciate the times that Bruce brings him back to us too, like in this video. Thank you Boss

"By the end of the set we leave no-one alive". That's one of the truths of the universe.

I still love this video. I lost my husband last April - we were married 51 years and he is my love forever~

I have tears in my eyes Bruce. As you said this song is about the "pain of losing one another to illness and time". My dog, Black, died a week and a half ago on the 14th of September. We were inseparable companions, like Calvin and Hobbes. Her death has been a huge blow for me and I still haven't fully accepted the reality that she is gone. I still think that whenever I go back home she will still be there to greet me like she always did.
The day she was cremated I had a dream about her. I was going up some wooden stairs and I see a dog that looked just like her. We both stare at each other for a moment, trying to figure out if we were really who we thought we were, like two friends who stumble upon each other after a lifetime. As soon as we realise who we were, we rushed to meet. She was overflowed with joy, not being able to stay still for a moment, always running around me and jumping. And I? I was whole once again.

Bruce, you do what ALL great poets do, you are able to put into words feelings that we all share but that some of us cannot express. What I felt during my dream was exactly how you described it in this song:

Come in my dreams and I rejoice

It's your ghost

Moving through the night
Spirit filled with light
I need, need you by my side
Your love and I'm
Alive

She will always be my spirit filled with light. Thank you, Bruce!

“'Ghosts' is about the beauty and joy of being in a band, and the pain of losing one another to illness and time. 'Ghosts' tries to speak to the spirit of the music itself, something none of us owns but can only discover and share together. In the E Street Band, it resides in our collective soul, powered by the heart." - Bruce
What a wonderful It rocks!👍

- For millions of people around the world his masterpiece is the soundtrack to their lives. For decades.
- For millions of people his music has been vital in their everyday lives.
- For millions of people he still gives faith in humanity.
- For millions of people he gives a positive image of the USA in the world (for the rest of world).
- He's an artist recognized as a legend but always available to meet fans
- He is an international treasure

A while back someone asked me what with all the terrible shit going on how you can be even remotely happy and I said well, Springsteen has a new album coming out so there’s reason for optimism. True then, true now.

I totally didn't expect this song to hit me with so much emotion, but isn't that just what Bruce Springsteen does to us? Brings us with him on his life journey, and ties it to our own. The world's greatest band!
