'Small Beginnings' An Animated Dinosaur Film

A young Tyrannosaurus Rex explores the world for the first time when tragedy strikes.

Anyone who knows anything about me probably saw this coming. An animation... about dinosaurs. It was inevitable.

This animation is a little less story-heavy than my others. I honestly can't say if that's a good or bad thing. This was more of an opportunity to step up my game in the technical department. Things like foliage, particles, weather and complicated character rigs I've deliberately avoided in the past. But now, I decided to face them head-on! =P

As you can imagine, this took longer to make than my other shorts. Over twice as long, actually. I was working on this for over 2 months.

Software used:
1. Blender.
2. Sony Vegas.
3. Audacity.
4. Photoshop.

This was really good. I've been a huge fan of Dinosaurs all my life. It left me wanting more.

Idk if my take on the film is what was intended, but my intepretation is that the baby dino lost his mum and then he grew up and had baby dinos of his own (to put things shortly).

It’s amazing. The way they move is still present in the newer animations, but with a far more unique style.

Looking back it’s amazing how simplifying things really makes things more grand.

Even though the short is far older and less polished than most of Deadsound’s work, the emotion, the feels, and the story hits hards. Just shows his skill and talent for storytelling and animation.
