How to set up your Raspberry Pi for the first time

This is a very easy and short tutorial on how to boot your Raspberry Pi Model B into an operating system and get Internet immediately.

Yes. You can run Arch Linux ARM, RISC OS, I heard you can run ubuntu as well.

Yes, you can use the yellow RCA port to go to an old TV or go to a computer store and get a HDMI to VGA adapter. The PI is being very progressive here not offering VGA. VGA is dead. You will need to use the 1/8" jack for sound if you don't use full HDMI. HDMI carries sound as well as a video signal.

Try it without overscan. You can always get back into the bios menu by typing sudo raspi-config from the command line.

Hey there, I don't remember seeing it on the FAQ of the Raspberry Pi site. Aparently there is no need for a cooler or anything of the sort. Can you just leave the RPi the way it is, get it inside a case and get it to work?

i plugged everything in and added the wheezy but when I insert the sd and power the pi, I get a white screen. ?

When i put the wheezy isn the win32 it does not start the green bar in the progress

you can buy usb wireless dongles. just make sure it says it supports linux
