There are over 7 billion people living on the earth right now. Tens of millions are born and die each year. Every single one of us leaves signs of our existence in the air, water, soil -- even space.

But these signs won't last forever. Our buildings will be gone in a few hundred years. Our stone monuments, plastic, styrofoam, twinkies, even evidence of our inevitable nuclear destruction will eventually be gone.

So how can we be sure that we were the first advanced civilization on earth?

Well, according to the Silurian Hypothesis: we can't.

The history channel had a show “life after people “ that covered this. It started 1 day after people disappeared and ended up thousands of years in the future. To see our civilization crumble into dust was fascinating.

This would explain why people claim there are structures on the moon. They are not alien structures, they belong to lifeforms from this planet just a different time. Love all the theories :).

I remember as a kid standing by the ocean and looking at all the rocks and thinking what if these were part of some civilization that’s so old we can’t even recognize it anymore and now it just looks like rocks to us? This channel gets my imagination going like that again, thank you for all the work you guys put into it!

I've done a lot of hiking in rural Northern India; the high Himalayas. One day I summited a pretty tall mountain (we're talking 15, 500 feet+) with an ancient looking stone temple on top. The old shaman there - who looked after the place - told me (through an interpreter): "This temple is very old. It existed even before the flood." Now, I'm pretty sure this fellow had never read the Bible. It led to several months of research on my behalf, and my mind was blown to discover that nearly every ancient religion or myth contains a flood story.

I am still mystified how this channel can be so good. AJ has an easy to listen to voice, the fish can add color commentary that otherwise risks the ire of Google, the information seems pretty well researched and the summaries are along the lines of “this is what we currently think and seems plausible”. No Science says or I am science attitude.

11:21 You know what i think makes this show great...its that AJ presents the info in not only am entertaining way but also in a reasonable realistic way. Then he will throw out everything thats not known to be factual. Tell you all the people who died tring to get this information out to the public before present times with internet access and finally he leaves you to come to your own conclusion and if your smart like I believe myself to be, then youll understand when I say ive watched many of AJs stories and most if not all have not only expanded my knowledge they've also blown my frickin mind. A dear and departed friend of mine and I used to discuss this very subject after sharing a couple bowls of.... corn flakes. If it's massive enough, a tsunami could wipe a continent clean. Everything would get washed into the ocean to be ground up under plate tectonics. Excellent video, my dude. :cough:
