What about the additional perks that an IAS professional gets. Please do not compare only salary. There are people on the pvt sector who work 24 hrs. Do pvt employees get the power that an IAS gets. The comparison of a IAS and a pvt employee is not 100% comparable at all.

80-90k is more than enough to run a household given that all expenses are bore by government through tax paid by citizens and the salary of IAS is just like savings for him. As fas as information I have, all facilities are provided by government. So what are the household expenses then?

Ye perks bhi to batao.... A vehicle with always full tank of fuel, a sarkari bungalow, highly subsidised electricity, water, gas bills, free accomodation in govt. guest house (anywhere in the country) when on family vacations or trip, easy post retirement employment....

80-90k 1st year mein hota hai, every year increment hoti hai, DA badhta rehta hai + PERKS... HOUSE, SERVANTS, CAR, MEDICAL EXPENSES etc...etc... Pls power alag.
I am an Assistant professor, working since past 2 years. Our basic pay is 68, 800. We get 1, 10, 000 in hand, and gross income is 1, 40, 000. We do not get these perks, except medical reimbursement. But ghar chal jata hai badhiya se. And I am saving a lot. I don't have a car, but my house rent is 30k per month. Also, it is essential for both husband-wife to work today if you are living in a metropolitan city.

90% of people in India live on less than 2LPA and they don’t get free houses cars servants and power, so yes 80-90k mein ghar araam se chal skta hai, issue is attitude, IAS ko lgta hai woh baki duniya pe ehsaan krrha hai isliye corruption ki dikkat h

Madame stop using this argument, it’s quite old and useless now as we all know that even if the officer is squeaky clean his entire salary will go into saving as they get every sort of luxury for free of cost.
They get houses that even upper middle class isn’t able to afford today.
They get premium cars, right now even non IAS officers get cars like Ciaz, many middle class people admire that car.
They literally get battalion of house help for catering all of they whims.
Their children get all sorts of advantages starting from school admissions to their entire life.
They literally pay no bill the ones they make us pay.
They get free flying allowance to travel the world, their families get that too.
All this comes from the pocket of tax payers, in fact I do agree we should slightly increase their base pays and abolish all these benefits we award them and also curtail their powers.
Indian civil servants are drunk in power right now and they need serious rehab.

If this salary is less for an IAS officer, then why there are many aspirants running after this position and that attempting it 2 to4 times. Nobody have asked them to take this hardship for us. In India, there are many graduates who are working hard more than 8hrs a day and still managing to earn less than ₹10000 per month. Don't forget that labours are also the nation builders. And in our country to have reforms at a faster pace one need to become a lawmaker not an IAS officer. His/her job is to just follow or implement the law that have been passed by these lawmakers. And there many instances in internet how IAS officer treating the public. They forget that they are ultimately a public servent. Shame on such statements. There are many people who have worked and impacted positively for the people of India without becoming an IAS officer. It only depends on the person's intention what he want to do with this position.
