Black children deserve protection.
The fact that it needs saying is disgusting. But the fact remains that "Black children need and deserve protection, " is something that needs to be screamed at the top of every decent person's lungs.

The whole world really needs to listen to the black community now, more than ever

Why was this talk so short? She's clearly brilliant - the old rule of showbiz? "leave them wanting more"

PREACH!!!! After reading W.E.B. DuBoir’s “Darkwater Voices from beneath the veil”!!! Eloquently orates the black womans condition. Hurtful, I found his analogy just as current today as it was then.🙏🏽😔🤭

I have to argue the statement she made about celebrities getting away with dating people younger than them. That shit was normal thing to see growing up for me. Not saying it’s right but it was normalized. And you’d probably see in different places all through the south. Parents saw nothing wrong with it and the kids wanted to be grown to soon. Holding celebrities accountable is important but there are certain things in our community that need to talked about and dealt with.

It's sad to think that the some of the people protecting R. Kelly are from his own community!

I don’t care about anyone’s damn skin colour, children are children and need to be protected and the fact that this needs to be discussed is sick. Little black girls are just as innocent, beautiful and special as little white girls, dammit.

I'm not sure I've ever seen the concept of blaming black girls for attracting men, it's a fairly common practice for all victims of sexual assault to be blamed for the crime in some way. But when are we going to start supporting the victims in our community?? As a young girl, I knew of several girls being molested and even raped by family members and friends of their families. All of them were told they wete lying or told not to tell anyone else so that the perpetrators wouldn't look bad. Even now when we hear about a sexual assault accusation, our first response is to denigrate the victim. Our community loves to speculate on the accuser...looking for money, wants fame, had sex and regretted it, angry for being dumped, too ugly to get a man, shouldn't have gone if sex wasn't on the agenda, etc. Added to all this is the "why is our business being made public?" criticism. Then the ultimate question comes: "Why are they trying to tear a good brother down?". And that is a often a result of the belief that a rich/good looking/powerful man can get sex any time and doesn't need to take it by force. Kobe Bryant, Bill Cosby, etc. Until we change that mindset in OUR community, we cannot address the issue outside of it.

The way people look at black girls sends a wrong signal to what we black people stand for. The world needs to rethink and we need to tell them and show them that black life matters.

Serious question about this topic. What exactly was done when he married Aliyah and she was 15? I heard the man was at high schools of all places back in the day.
