I’m one of the Lighthouse Keepers at the Harbour Town Lighthouse and I can’t thank you enough for your kind words of both Harbour Town and Hilton Head Island.
Safe travels, my friend.

at around 24:51, youre cruising past Holden Beach NC. You can see the boat I spent many summers aboard growing up, Intimidator, to port. Learned a lot about boating working on that old beauty. I saw you pass the sort of turquoise tower building off starboard at around 24:45 and was just going "wait a second, thats gotta be it!" with a grin getting wider and wider until you passed by. Its amazing how seeing something that holds so many memories for you show up in a stranger's travels evokes a totally new feeling.

Finally a channel about small power boats doing these trips and not a sailboat 👍( not that there’s anything wrong with sailboats) like to see small power boats doing these long distance trips as well.

When I was 12 (1975) my grandparents took a cousin and myself in a 24' houseboat called the Sea Turtle from Brunswick, GA up the ICW through the St Lawrence Seaway, through the Great Lakes and down the Mississippi to the Gulf Coast. It was a 2 1/2 month trip and extremely educational. I have loved boating and travel ever since.

This is so inspiring. For years I had a Chris Craft 340 Crowne with twin 350s that was about the same size. I never dreamed of taking a trip of this distance, Yet ill jump in a car and drive to Florida on just one of about the same engine. This is the kind of adventure that you remember for a lifetime.

In the early 90's my Pop piloted his boat that we owned since 1974 when I was 10 ( a 1968 38' wooden Pacemaker ) down the ICW with his buddy from NY to South Florida where my wife and I lived at the time. I was unable to make any of the trip with them, but I always imagine what that was like. ( I'm sure it was awesome) He has passed away, as has his buddy - but watching your video shows me all the places they passed by- and in my mind I can see that old boat just cruising along - just like many of those that you passed on your wonderful trip-thanks for taking us all along ! One day I hope to follow.

Thanks for taking the time to share your trip with us. I found it very entertaining & interesting from your perspective as a novice & traveling in a somewhat unconventional type boat for that trip. I've lived on a lake most of my life & have been looking into the small yacht traveling thing. Your trip really opened my eyes about why most people prefer larger & slower boats for doing the loop and the ICW. I really enjoyed your novice commentary, since I think in the same terms. A big gray metal military looking boat's a "battleship" to me too. <grin> It's funny how many people bothered to correct you, as if it "mattered". Getting the name of a bridge wrong sure ruffled some feathers too, lol! And you'd better not call the joints that drain your credit card to refill your gas tank a "gas station". You weren't pretending to be seasoned lifelong sailors or experts, so I'm not sure why some thought they needed to "school" you over it.

After being on the water most of my almost 80 years and watching your entire video all I can say is you guys had the Lord working overtime. I wouldn't advise going to the Keys, Bahamas or anywhere else until you have a vessel more capable and a lot more experience. Your video was better than most on YouTube. Thank you. PS I made a guesstimate on what your fuel cost would be. Obviously I was $33 off LOL

What a great video. Enjoyed all of it. One of the best things is you were a newbie to this adventure and so many of those who want to do this are too. You explained the processes and protocols that others don't bother to. That is so helpful to so many others who may not take the leap because they are so unfamiliar with the do's and don'ts. You seemed to be happy with the marinas you chose, it would have been nice to mention their names.
Thank you for sharing your adventure. It was fascinating.

What a great video! Been boating for over 45 years, and I've always wanted to do this run. You've made it look simple! BTW... Don't pay too much attention to the critics. Boating is about enjoying your time on the water. You'll learn as you go along, and become an expert at some point. Keep enjoying your time afloat!

This was a magnificent video, I almost felt like I was traveling with you guys. I really appreciate how detailed you were in the video, makes me realize how much I need to learn about boating if I’m going to purchase one. Thank you so much for sharing your experience.

Thank you so much for sharing your waterway adventures! I often dreamed about doing intercoastal traveling by water on a sizable Yatch between a 35' to 40'. Anything larger it would be concerning about the shallows and fuel cost. Great job, guys. Thanks to you, I traveled on my couch with you all.

Recalls my cruising days: One nm per gallon fuel consumption, marine gas $4/gallon, at 20 knots for 8 hours, over $600/ day fuel cost. Lastly, sailors on an AIRCRAFT carrier would be insulted you called their craft a battleship.

Jacksonville is where the intracoastal just starts to get really beautiful and warm. St. Augustine, New Smyrna, Daytona are really great!

Coincidentally, I grew up in R.I., left in '74 for D.C., love it here.
I run a 40-footer like yours, (365 gallon cap.), and have been up and down the ICW numerous times.
You produced a Good Quality Vid! Told it like it is.
By the way, after having different-sized crews, the best is three easy-going guys, especially if they love the water, like you had. Yep-Good Job....

Nice trip- you passed right by our house. We love watching the migration of boats, but please remember that it is a no wake zone within 50 feet of any dock or pier whether or not there is a sign (NC Law and just plain courteous)- you may not realize it, but the wake from a large/ go fast boat like yours causes significant damage to the docks (particularly the floating docks) whether or not the boats are on the lifts. Plus you will cut your fuel costs down dramatically and get a lot more waves from the friendly folks on the ICW.

Came upon this vid and liked it a lot. Doing a 53' Riviera delivery from Deale, Md to Stuart, Fl next week. Done the trip north and south many times and depending on the type of boat and speed, you always are able to check out different towns and experiences along the way.
