I am a 73 year old retiree that has enjoyed your experience with pride and envy. There are people who plan for this their entire life to go through the ICW. You are showing it can be done safely and have a great time doing it. My hats off to you and your partner. Keep posting!

I loved watching this whole trip. You and Adam will never forget it. I felt sad watching him leave. Here is what I liked so much:
1. Your positive attitude. No complaining and whining and being dramatic. Just two real guys having fun. It was funny when you were in the Chesapeake bay you said something like " it sucks here" But you quickly caught yourself being negative and said " just kidding, its nice" LOL
2. At the end of the day you would show on a map how you went.
3. The drone footage was a nice touch and added to your production.
4. You talked like a normal person, not a put on phoney personality
5. Even though your a sailor, you didnt talk like one. Meaning you didnt curse the whole time. I appreciate that . I could watch this with my family.
Thanks for being transparent with the costs, it answered a lot of my questions
And BTW it was very obvious to me from the beginning that you are a hard worker and not getting handouts. Great Job!!

That is still a HUGE amount of money to just buy a boat and get to Florida.
Last year I bought a 34' Steel hull sailboat for $12, 000. Put $5000 and 4 weeks labor into a refit.
Sailed from Lake Ontario thru the Erie Canal system to NYC. Cost $450 to take mast down and $400 to put back up. Spent $115 in diesel thru canal system at avg 4-5 knots. Then from NYC to Key Largo spent $210 in diesel when using the ICW in bad weather. Slept on board all but 3 nights, $380 in hotel rooms that had Jacuzzi tubs to " feel good "
Spent $400 in groceries and $500 in beer for 2ppl. $120 in dog food. Moored 7 times at marinas to take advantage of electricity to do maintenance
$400 there. Ate a ton of fish including 1 Bluefin Tuna that weighed in at 91 pounds. Shared that meat with a handful of cruisers in South Carolina who will never forget me. So ya sailing vessels are much cheaper to operate and much more fun on the open water AND can handle much bigger waves/weather. IF anyone does buy a Trawler, and yes I love me a Trawler, but, it's gotta be Diesel and full keel type to handle offshore weather. I plan on retiring into a 45-55ft Trawler when to old to sail.
Well thats my 2 cents on a Cruiser Lifestyle. But i'd say BOTH our points are similar, ,,, ANYONE can do this and live the lifestyle. Then learn to create YouTube videos and make an extra couple grand a month to keep on going into the Wild Blue Yonder !!
Peace Out & Fair Winds to All !!!

One of the best boating cost breakdowns that I've seen, period. You're a smart young man Gus, for lots of reasons, one of them is keeping track of your expenses. Your Mom & Dad raised you right, so kudos to them, and you are on your way to a fantastic life. Thanks for taking the time to share your journey with us all, especially us old-timers who are in our sixties and still working to make our bucket list dreams happen, we appreciate it, cheers!

It also depends on what speed you want to push the yacht If you keep it around 6 to 8 knobs you'll probably get a very good economical fuel burn if you floor the throttles or or push it to 10 to 12 knots you'll probably get me refilling every 2 days

Outstanding. As a guy who’s first job out of college was working at a marina on winnipsaukee, and still boating around mass, with the hope of doing what you’re doing, I really appreciate this summary. You’re killing it. Greta job.

I was having a discussion at work about how much it would cost to take a boat from Maine to Florida, this video is one of the videos that came up, I’m so happy I found it. I’ve been watching all your videos. I find them awesome and very entertaining. I didn’t go from Maine to Florida on a boat but when I was in my 20s, But I traveled all over the world every place I’ve ever wanted to go, I did it on the cheap, sometimes I camped out in places like when I went to Hawaii would visit the resorts during the day and camp out at night, you have to live life and you never know when it will end so you have to do it sooner than later, when you get older, your body can’t keep up with you so it’s awesome You’re doing this now. Your videos are very entertaining. I love Them so keep them coming.!!!

Forget the trip! I'm amazed that you did all the work yourself. I was a passenger aboard a 35 foot ship visiting the Greek isles. We had a bad storm and I literally prayed to God that if I lived, I'd never sail again. It was that scary. I love LOOKING at the ocean...that's it

Well covered. I like u make the statement of where you got the money to make the trip. Non boaters with envy don’t realise how many hours of labour go on to a boat even if it’s in top condition. They all want to go out on it but would never help to clean paint scrape mop dust and all the rest. Have fun all the best to you boat buddy 👍👍👍

There is hope for the USA! Great presentation by a thorough young man. You used your head to $ave money on the boat- and the trip. I can certainly live with 8 knots. Good job.

Great job. Don’t ever listen to those who make stupid comments about how you were able to pay for this. Most who speak like that have no idea and just want to try and take away your credit for working hard and accomplishing something few of them will ever be able too. I don’t know what your prior boating experience was but you did this with a level head by teaching yourself how to do so much of the maintenance. You also paid attention to the important details when prepping your boat for this long journey. I totally admire that you had a vision and a goal and went after it. You have a adventure that will last a lifetime. I’ve been boating and a live aboard for over 30 years and love it. I hope your passion is only greater for boating adventures now that you’ve done this. Bahamas trip or even the Great Loop may be a interest to you in the future. You actually have a great boat for long range cruising. I really enjoy your videos. Hope to see more adventures in the future. Wish you fair weather and calm seas !
