Thank you. Been installing DIY doors for too many years and never knew I could take the door latch metal surround off for doors with only the round hole (not pre-cut around latch). What a pain to field cut for the metal surround! Who knew?

Thank you for posting this! I removed my exterior door to put in a new one, my original door was secured thru the bricking molding with several 16 penny nails! It was very difficult to remove. Had no caulk except for bottom of threshold! I will put in the new one CORRECTLY, thanks to you.

You are so smart! I have learned so much from your videos. The reason can watch all your videos is that I will be getting a total knee replacement in October. Can’t walk, but I can crawl! So when I’m not watching your videos, I’m crawling under my granny’s house built in 1945, to redo old plumbing with PEX. One tip you may not know.. Saw on your ironing boards, and iron on your sawhorses! In the yard, get at least 4 ironing boards. They stop where you want them to on unlevel ground, and can hold quite a bit of weight. Iron edge banding on small plywood pieces on your sawhorses. Thanks for all the great info😊😃

I know nothing about installing doors so I went to get a quote from a window and door company and was quoted $1300. After watching this video I went to Home Depot and purchased a pre-hung door for $200 and plan on installing it this weekend. Thank you for your easy to follow videos. You saved me some $$$$. That is if all works out well. hahahaha

I got some information in addition to yours that any opening wider than 6 feet also requires a minimum of 2 king studs per side. That was from a California contractor. Thank you for your help.
