I will be 68 in a few months & have come to the conclusion that waking up every morning IS a special occasion to get dressed up!!!

Thank you for your advice!!! Great video. My father is 98 years old and he always advises us: get up, take a shower and get dress, present yourself well all the time.

Thats absolutely the best advice, don't always save your favourite outfit ..wear it, enjoy it, life's too short!! Also, decluttering the wardrobe was the BEST thing I ever did..getting rid of stuff I never wore, just because I paid a lot of money for it, or bought it for a special occasion and only wore it that once...if you're not going to wear it again....get it out of the wardrobe so when you open the doors, its all stuff you DO like and WILL wear.❤❤

I love thrift shopping because clothes from past decades are often there and I can find cotton, silk, rayon, and linen.

You’re as delicate as a big sister helping the rest of us little sisters💕 thank you!

I need this. I’m 39. A stay at home homeschooling mom and for years I’ve lost my personal style. I feel frumpy most days.

First time watching you; I love your way of encouraging & motivating—without shaming or communicating that everyone needs to dress just like you! Thanks and lots of good ideas!

So much new clothing are polyester potato sacks. I haven't bought any new clothes in years. I have custom made silk and wool clothes that I found second hand. I have taught myself to sew, so sometimes I buy mens clothes sometimesif they are good fabic, throw in some Darts and pleats, and they look great.

This is one of the first times I've 100 per cent agreed on every point. Dressing up to go for a coffee, why not. No one knows that you may be just going directly home after and not to a special event. 🎉🎉🎉

Great video, thanks! I would love to see you take something that is kind of frumpy looking and style it. Sometimes I can’t tell if the clothes themselves are frumpy or if I’ve just styled it poorly.

Yeeeesss to fabric/quality. It makes a huge difference. Polyester was so big for so long and is the main reason I’ve struggled even as a pretty young thing. Now I’m in my 40’s, and I wish I had known this sooner. Example: we are planning my uncle’s funeral. I don’t usually ever wear black. It’s too harsh for me. It’s also 103 degrees right now. But I realized that if I buy in a quality fabric, it will work. I bought a black linen vintage-y style. The linen is just lovely in texture and drape. It’s also less harsh in saturation than black polyester or rayon or viscose. The only thing I didn’t love were the buttons (shirt dress style) because they were plastic. So today, I bought real wooden buttons and will swap them out. My uncle always dressed the part for occasions, and I feel ready.

For Christmas last year, I got a color analysis done. It's nice to now know what colors look best with my skin tones and makes shopping easier and more fun!

can I just say ... you look radiant. And definitely look like the right person to be speaking about this topic. Everything you're wearing looks carefully selected, flatters you and your hair is a goal for sure. Changing out of PJs is somedays a struggle, esp on Sundays, but I have to agree that when I change I do feel better and am definitely more productive. Sometimes the algorithm is a blessing

I'm 21 but I started to feel frumpy wearing clothes I haven't carefully thought out.
I also realized baggy clothes suit slimmer people because their features contrast the bagginess making it striking.
Lots of tips I totally understood when you said them, I'm gonna finally do something about my frumpiness.
Thanks a ton!

Honestly, learning my Kibbe body type, style essence and color season helped me a lot (Romantic, Ingenue, Bright Spring). So when I wear frilly, girly stuff with a waist emphasis in some saturated color-BOOM I look my best even if it’s not trendy.

You are so on point 👏 I have swopped out synthetic fabrics for linen, cotton, wool and some viscose. Of cause I do have a few things that I love that have some acrylic or polyester in but I’m much more aware of what clothing is made of. I want my clothes to last I’m not a fan of fast fashion

Definitely in a style transition time of my life. Just got rid of all the skinny jeans and outdated stuff. I enjoyed this video. Thanks Angie!

The kids saying “where are we going?“ 😂 I felt that.

My advice to avoid frump is to forget about tiered dresses, etc. They up frumpiness by 1000% unless you’re under 12 years old.

I've found some nice linen tops and bottoms at TJ Maxx this season. If you have the patience to wade through the iffy items, you can find some real gems.
