Did You Know In THE LION KING 2: SIMBA’S PRIDE…

There is a character that is noticeably not present throughout the entire movie. Simba’s mother, Sarabi, who survives the events of the first movie and was key to Simba’s uprising as King, does not appear and is not mentioned throughout the story at all. This was likely done out of respect for actress Madge Sinclair, who was the voice of Sarabi in the first movie. Sinclair unfortunately passed away one year after the release of the first Lion King movie.

Personally I feel if she was on the second movie she'd have been against banishing Kovu and would've told Simba to his face that his pride was blinding him.

One would think the character would at least be mentioned in a favorable manner. Even something as small as "She was a great mother, and now watches over us all." would be better than nothing.

Sarabi should’ve been next to Mufasa in spirit. That’d be a touching scene…

I feel really bad for laughing at the comment’s because it’s a sad thing *Sarabi was my favourite character* but the fact some of y’all didn’t know there was a lion king two is unbelievable to me- I grew up watching it and it was literally my favourite movie, I used to prefer the second one because I loved Kovu But now I Love both equally because of the songs.

I actually liked her voice. It showed this sophistication you don't hear often. And with Sarabi it just seemed to her character an made her seem majestic like a queen, even when she was playful.

The scene when Kiara comes out of pride Rock to go on her first hunt I thought sarabi was the one that said 'my how you've grown'

Honestly I always adored Sarabi. She was a great character even though she has few screen time.

In-universe it’s sadly likely Sarabi passed away after her son asended as King as she was likely old herself, and may have held on to make sure the Pride Lands survived Scar

I feel like Sarabi passing also makes sense (I know the reason why she isn’t in TLK2 is because of her actress, but if that wasn’t the case it would make sense for Sarabi herself to be gone) because she was probably around 5 or so years when Simba was born, and the events of TLK take place over the course of an additional 3-5 years. She was probably older and weak.
