Banks made record profits last year in 2021! And are about to pay out huge bonuses, some of the biggest ever paid out, smells like the Great Recession all over again…

Bank branches are closing in record numbers. They start by saying that it’s a temporary closure due to health concerns, then the branch just never re-opens.

Their mandates state the following:
Ensuring that everyone has access to banking facilities remains our top priority - This is a LIE... If that were true, they wouldn’t cut access would they?

When you look on these banks websites to find out exactly why they are closing branches, they cite the following reasons: #1 CV

2. Removing branches encourages those online banking hesitant to move online with the rest of the public - could they be any more insulting & patronizing? This is simply not true. How could an 80 year old lets say who doesn’t even own a computer or smartphone (because they don't have those skills) suddenly start learning how to use online banking - it’s never going to happen.

Bank branches are profit losing entities & add no additional value to the business bottom line (Yes, but older people keep their savings in the bank, which the bank then uses to make huge profits whilst paying that saver 0.1% interest), it’s not a 1 sided arrangement here with the bank as the hero and the saver as a burden. Just go and try to take your cash out and see what they say… no way, they won’t allow you to! The banks are parasites, I’m not aiming this to those of you who work in the branches, because the banks will get rid of you next too. However they can increase profits, they will...

I live in a small town in Lancashire, we used to have 8 banks/building societies 30 years ago. A few weeks back, the last bank in town closed down. The only place you can walk in and deposit cash is the post office. Mind you, we used to have several of those as well, but many of those have also closed!

A lot of branches are closing to get people to do on line banking and to save the banks the cost of renting a building. About 3 years ago I was approached by bank staff to encourage me to sign up for on line banking. I told them I preferred going into a branch and was told that eventually I would have no choice because everything will be on line. So I told them, "If I were you I would start looking for a different career choice because if the banks get rid of their branches then your jobs are at risk too." I certainly gave them something to think about.

In 1992 I stood outside my bank in the town centre and held a poster saying; "The banks are liars, don't trust them, the day will come when they will steal all your money."
The public laughed at me, ridiculed me, and some even spat on me and then finally I was removed by a policeman. Many of those same people all lost their money in the 2008 crises. I didn't see any of them laughing then. Since then nothing has changed.

Banks are not your friend and never have been. And anyone who thinks their bank is their friend is severely deluded. Once the reality sets in then comes the realization that you own nothing and you will be perfectly happy. You worked hard all your life and saved to get ahead but instead you were actually duped in order to get you to perform for the powers that be. I guess there should be some comfort in knowing that all your friends are in the same boat with you so you won't be alone.

Looking after two of my grandparents at the moment both 85 this year and let just say, not the next health. Absolutely no way they would be able to bank on their own without help. I can see a lot of older people on their own getting scammed or worse as the collapse deepens.
