what non guitarists and bassists need to know about this, is just how EXHAUSTING playing such a bass line is. It's playing every note in perfect time at 92bpm in a finger style without your hand going into a spasm. It takes great technique and a relaxed hand and a LOT of practice. superb stuff Ellen!

This bassline is ABSOLUTELY RELENTLESS on the fingers. No breaks. Nonstop 8th notes and moving all over the neck the entire time. To do this flawlessly as an adult is high level bass playing. To do it as an 11 year old is stunning.

She is definitely a prodigy. A great talent. Well done.

One things I've noticed from watching a lot of her videos, is that she has what you can't teach - groove. She'll be learning or practicing something and it's kinda not there, and she gives it a second or two, let's the 'feel' come in, then she catches the groove and she's killing it from then on. She rocks the crap out of every style. I wish I was that badass at anything in

Best part of her vids is when she gets close to the end of a song and realizes she has nailed it and breaks out into that big smile. Such a ray of light. 👍

I've heard many upcoming bass players playing Hysteria on YouTube and they do it well. The difference with Ellen is that she does it with flawless timing. All the time! So tight!

That stance. Those head turning, braid flinging moves. The absolute mastery of timing and touch. Even the smile at the end. Ellen, you are a star already. Thank you for sharing. 🙂

From my eyes and my ears…. Flawless! I am more and more impressed with every video. As a bass player, I cannot commend you enough. The other day I was having a conversation about favorite players and when it came to bass I said Billy Sheehan, Dana Strun, Ellen Alaverdyan, Geddy Lee and that’s in no particular order. This Muse song isn’t easy to play and you just made it look like it was cake. Girl, keep it going. You are a phenom. And you are doing something very special. Mad love to dad, I think it is absolutely amazing what you do and your role in Miss Ellen’s growth. Keep the focus and keep playing, everything… pop to metal to jazz to Latino to east listening, everything… every song you learn, will teach you more and more. It could be something as simple as a Poison song banging on 3rd fret E string to something from Flea. I am very proud of and I am super excited to see where you go. Congrats kiddo, you are well in your way to greatness!

In my humble opinion that's probably one of the trickier arrangements to play. The fact that you went for 4 minutes at that pace brings only one word to my mind. OUTSTANDING!!!

I hope she has a brighter future as a bassist. She enjoys doing what she loves here. And I also hope Chris Wolstenholme (Muse bassist) watches this and realises he's also an inspiration. That guy is really underappreciated. Great technique, stamina and tone. He once jokingly said: "I hate playing Hysteria. It hurts"

This girl is going to be a BEAST when she grows up. What awesome technique. You go, girl!

It’s not just her playing- it’s also her spirit and energy that makes her so wonderful. That smile melts icebergs.

First thing, her tone is massive and crystal clear. I love it. Second, her fingerpicking is impeccably clean. Third, she's making that look effortless although I've no doubt she practices for hours daily or almost daily. She really is incredibly good.

I'm hearing notes that I've never noticed before. Genius bassline cover. 11 years old!!!?? What a fantastic future she deserves 👏

Getting older I'm sure there will be 1000 music bands begging her playing bass with them...! Just now at this point Ellens skills are unbelievable - wow!!! Why not trying to meet Leland Sklar - the old man with his experience of 50 years playing the bass live and in the studio? He was the "Bass Man" playing often concerts with Phil Collins and many other superstars! I believe this could be a great gig!!! Chapeau, little lady - I'm sure you'll make your way! 😍

She must be a bass player reborn! and was probably already very capable in her past life! Absolutely incredible!

You and your dad are an inspiration to so many people, I heard a guy say if he saw you when he was younger he’d quit his guitar. Not me watching you and your father work together push me to practice the piano more. Thank you both and don’t stop growing in your craft.

I don't see a young girl playing the bass, I simply see a good solid musician that absolutely rocks

Incredible talent - such a joy to watch and listen to. And the reward of her cute, cute smile at the end. Bravo, Ellen.
