In 2005, one five-year-old girl in Florida woke up to the worst nightmare you can imagine. Her whole world was about to collapse.

And she had to make the most important phone call of her life. But would anyone reach her and her family in time?

In Volusia, Florida, in late March, 2005, five-year-old Tia Skye Hernlen was woken up at 3am by a really strange noise. So, she was probably quite scared. She got out of bed and went to look for her mommy and daddy for some comfort.

But the horror that she found in her parents’ bedroom would have made anyone freak out!

Now, 911 dispatchers receive some pretty insane phone calls from the public. I’m sure you can already imagine just how insane some of them really are! From the horrible to the really hilarious, they’ve listened to and dealt with pretty much anything you can imagine.

when she said "I said mommy and daddy and they didn't even answer" I sobbed so hard. My daughter is only 8 months and I can't imagine. No child should ever witness or see that ever. So brave and knowledgeable and very good with her memory. Her parents would be so proud. 🥺🥺🥺🥺💜💜💜 I hope she has grown up to be a very thriving woman.

What a brave little girl. I've heard countless 911 calls where an adult cannot be understood. That poor child seen something no one should have to see. I'm in tears listening to that call. The dispatcher did an amazing job of keeping her talking and calm. Just so horrific, what she walked into and saw cannot be unseen. So sad.

The fact that she lived 15 years of her life (the little girl would be 22 now) without her parents is just heartbreaking I bet they were smiling from heaven on thier precious daughter as she grown up.

What a brave little girl. But, I am so sorry she lost her amazing parents to a crackpot who killed them for no reason. How terrible. I am so glad she has her grandma to help take care of her and raise her after this.
