Majoring in Physics vs. Math

Theoretical physics is mostly math and a math major would probably be useful if you want to work in a purely theoretical area. The physics major would set you up well for more experimental work or for work with elements of both theory and experiment.

Physics uses math, majoring in math is far more than topics covered by physics majors, especially topics of pure mathematics like Analysis, ring theory, Group theory, combinatorics, Number theory, logic and set theory, Riemann function, I like physics too especially Newtonian physics.
Edit : in first year I studied classical mechanics and electro dynamics, I liked maxwell’s work too.

I majored in mathematics, while both math and physics are of difficult courses i have taken. I actually thought physics was more fun to me. The problems and concepts seemed more practical to me and alot easier to visualize for me. I liked how applicable physics seemed for me. Math did seem more abstract to me.
