Two Edmonton officers shot and killed in line of duty

Two officers are dead after responding to a dispute call early Thursday morning. The suspect is also deceased and a woman is in life threatening condition in hospital.

Curious as to why the Shooter wasn't named, no photograph, his mother wasn't named, no photograph. What was his, or their ethnicity?

Also, if the shooter was only 16 or 17 did he perchance happen to have a PAL or RPAL if it was a Handgun? If not, how did he get the gun?

To the Families and the force, my heartfelt condolences, my God one of these cop's and his wife just had a newborn baby, when they put their uniform on in morning they really don't know if their coming back home at night. The whole force is paying the price for the actions of a few.

Very sorry to hear this. Excellent statement from the Chief of Police. Good to hear that the woman survived because of the policemen who performed their duty and went beyond. They should surely get a medal for their service(posthumously).

Edmonton is a nasty city and crawling with violent, mentally ill and criminally minded individuals. Very difficult to Police and always a threat to every Law Enforcement Member working in that area. I spent 15 years there and was posted just east of the City. Another sad day for those two great guys in their prime.
