Thanks a bunch for the refresher. I haven't had to touch scripts for years. Really appreciated!

Nice video. I like the fact that you are not afraid to make mistakes and then correct them on screen. It helps with learning to troubleshoot and also shows it's okay to make mistakes as long as you fix them.

Thanks - appreciate the comments! I never tried mapping an FTP drive before. I did automate a certain FTP transfer by writing a batch script many years ago but never thought about mapping a drive with it though. Something I would have to mess around with. I am not sure right this minute.

As an intern it's awesome I was able to learn this so easily and the troubleshooting just helped me learn even more. Thanks!

Didn't know there were so many ways to map drives.  TY!  I use VB scripts to map drives & create desktop shortcuts for those drives (good for non technical users).  Great video!

Your server basics series have been a great help as I am a DIY buff who wanted to set up the server at our organisation. Can you also upload a video on how to add another server to an existing domain??

Thanks for the kind words. I would be happy to throw up a video on pushing out icons to desktops via GPO... I actually recently set some icons up at a local school district I do side work for, and can use that as an example. I thought I might have put a video out already on this topic, but I am getting old, and probably forgot to. Make sure to subscribe to this channel, and check the site regularly for updated tutorials - keep an eye out for the one you requested!

@Ioan190 no problem. Open up a command prompt, and type: net use g: /delete (replace "g" with whatever drive letter you used for your mapping)

@thestig888 Sure thing, thank you for the suggestion (always looking for video ideas). It probably won't be until this upcoming weekend since it does take some time to record, edit, etc... Keep subscribed and keep an eye out bro!

Awesome Od! I too was into *nix many years ago, and like you, had started working on Windows servers (back then was for a college). I rarely touch *nix boxes these days.
