I just love how they point out the similarities yet differences of both of their enlightened moment. V was forged in fire and rage and pure wrath. Evie was cleansed in rain from fear and hopelessness and a new sense of purpose. Both started their lives right then, both became who they were to be but from different sides of the same spectrum

The duality in this scene is amazing. He is walking out of the fire, she is walking into the cold rain. He is screaming in anger, she is smiling in gratitude. But both emotions have been forged by the same cruelty.

Fire and water.
Rage and happiness.
Imprisonment and freedom.
Mask and unmasked.
A man and a woman.
Death and rebirth.
Beginning and an end...

The score in this movie is so underrated and this scene has one of the best compositions I have ever heard. It makes you feel inspired as Evey walks out into the rain, and spreads her arms out with flashbacks to V’s firey origins juxtaposed with her being reborn out of water and overcoming her fears.

I remember in a time of my life where I was battling addiction. It was a few days after a relapse. It had started raining. I decided to take a walk outside, and as it rained more and more, I let it fall to my face. I told myself... "God is in the rain." I didn't remember where I got that from, but now I realize it was from this scene. I'd like think it was a similar feeling that Evie felt... I felt so insignificant to the universe... yet part of it all. Can't describe it.

I haven't used since, and hopefully never will. Every time it rains, I just remember this scene.

V is the fire that burns away the corruption. Evie is the rain that brings life anew.

This scene is all about when you realize that you no longer have a fear of death! Therefore you have no fear towards what mankind can do to you.

So powerful, makes you realise that everything is significant and insignificant at the same time

One of the most timelessly uplifting film quotes:
“God is in the rain.” 🌧️

Thank you, Natalie. 💓

I cried so much during this scene. Natalie Portman is simply triumphant! This was Evies release. Where she becomes completely untethered to the world. Those of us who've had this moment in real life know exactly what this woman is feeling. Freedom within. Your eyes are open. Fuck, this was such a powerful moment. I think it is one of Natalie's strongest moments as an actress playing Evie. Damn now I need to watch V for Vendetta again.

This is one of the greatest scenes I have ever witnessed . I got chills all over my body. It’s a masterpiece. It’s almost like art.

I love the parallels between Evie and V’s origin. One was born and scarred out of fire and vengeance and the other cleansed by rain and hope

god this feels so spiritual, does anyone else agree?

Evie freed by letting go. V chained by holding on. Gotta love that duality

V knows he is pure destruction. He can't give life.

So different... but part of the same.
