Something that worked for me for some reason: Settings>Display and Brightness>View, change the view from standard to zoomed and it fixes, than go back to the zoom setting you want.

Your recommendation to check & change the “Settings / Accessibility / Zoom / Zoom Filter” from “Low Light” to “None” fixed my dim screen problem. Many thanks!

So what I did what power off the phone by pushing the power button and the top volume button and swiped the power off button and it restarted the brightness.

If anyone is noticing their screen automatically dimming, even though you have that setting turned off - there is another spot in which I found it “on”. Go to & Text size> auto brightness (at the bottom). Turn it off.

So even though I had it set in display settings as off, there was another “auto brightness” I found which was turned on.
