I feel peace knowing that Heavenly Father loves us enough to speak to us in ways that are unique and personalized to each of us.

I've had 23 bishops in my life, excluding during my mission. Some of them sought for and acted on revelation, and those remain the ones I esteem, for their desire to help Christ help me.

Elder Cook Came To Our Hilo Hawaii Stake Conference Early 2018🌺I Woke Up That Morning & Told My Family, Whoever The Apostle Is, ALL I NEED TO DO IS TOUCH HIS CLOTHES. As Elder Cook Was Leaving, With Priesthood Leaders Surrounding Him, A Brother Happened To Say: Elder Cook This Sister: Everyone Stopped, Elder Cook Turned Around & I Went Straight Into His Arm’s For A Hug. Elder Cook Said To Me; You Needed That Didnt You? Yes, I Said THANK YOU🌹HE, NOT KNOWING MY HUSBAND HAD JUST PASSED AWAY CHRISTMAS NIGHT 2017🌺All I Wanted To Do Was Touch His Clothes & He Touched My Heart Forever🌺With Much Love & Aloha🌺

I can relate. Some of the most clear answers I have received were for others.

Elder Cook was seated next to Mick Jagger on a flight from Mexico to the US.

After a while, & with no conversation typical of a person meeting Mick for the 1st time, Mick was annoyed that Elder Cook just kept reading.
Mick asked Elder Cook if he knew who he was. Elder Cook said he did not. Mick then showed Elder Cook the Time Magazine he had been reading with his band on the cover. “That’s me, ” Mick said.
“That must be so special for you to be on the cover of that magazine.”

We All have ability to hear God. I have heard Him since six years old. Be careful of religion..they do not teach you properly. I guess? They like to keep authority to themselves.

Elder Cook’s story highlights a beautiful truth—God speaks to His people. But this isn’t unique to LDS leadership.

Jesus tore the temple veil in AD 70, abolishing the need for mediators. Every believer now hears Him directly through the Spirit (John 16:13).

The Transfiguration’s command—“Hear Him!”—wasn’t just for Peter. It’s for all who embrace the New Covenant.

Literalist end-times theories, like building tents on that mountain, distract from Christ’s present Kingdom. His words about Jerusalem’s fall (“this generation”) were fulfilled in AD 70, closing the Old Covenant’s age.

Today, “Hear Him” means walking by the Spirit, not chasing earthly shadows. The Kingdom isn’t in temples, timelines, or titles—it’s within us. Soli Deo Gloria.

Your story is an example of confirmation bias, where you interpret a coincidental experience as divine revelation simply because it aligns with your expectations. There is nothing verifiable about your claim—it relies purely on personal feelings, which is not a reliable method for discerning truth. If your ability to receive revelation were truly divine, it should be tested under controlled conditions and consistently proven accurate, yet countless religious leaders from different faiths claim similar "revelatory" experiences that contradict each other. Do you accept their claims as valid, or do you dismiss them because they don't align with your beliefs?

Furthermore, your statement reflects anecdotal evidence fallacy—you are using a single personal experience to suggest that divine revelation is guiding church leaders, yet there is no objective proof that your experience was anything beyond intuition, experience, or coincidence. If Mormon leaders truly receive revelation, why do they repeatedly change doctrine, revise past teachings, and contradict earlier "prophetic" statements? A God who reveals truth should not be subject to human error and inconsistency.

Finally, this account subtly reinforces authority bias, implying that church leaders receive special access to divine knowledge while members should accept their guidance without question. But if revelation is real and God speaks to individuals, why should anyone need an intermediary like a bishop? The Bible teaches that all believers have access to God through Christ (1 Timothy 2:5, Hebrews 4:16), not through church officials acting as gatekeepers. Your experience, while meaningful to you, does nothing to prove the truth of Mormonism or the legitimacy of its claimed revelations. It simply shows that people can convince themselves that their own thoughts and emotions are the voice of God.
