"He does answer, and we do hear Him, but it’s as He determines best in His wisdom and His love."

Elder D. Todd Christofferson says that we should always be ready, willing, and open to #HearHim.

Just as Joseph Smith was asked to #HearHim in the spring of 1820, we are asked to #HearHim today as we celebrate the Restoration of Jesus Christ’s gospel. Our Savior still speaks to us. As we follow His commandments, we will #HearHim. Share your experiences and act on what you hear as you feel the joy the Savior’s words bring.

Spot on. I love our Apostles that suffer so much burden and, frankly, so much hate and belittlement from others. I am so grateful for them and their purity.

I testify He answers, and we can hear Him. God lives, Jesus is the Christ. He is our Savior.

I love this message. I feel like the fact that he continued to pray and read the scriptures- even after a disappointing experience of not receiving an answer when he was wanting- is so important. It takes faith to keep trying even when we don’t see results right away- but they WILL come!

There's Perfect Peace when I hear Him, mainly when The Holy Spirit cries ABBA FATHER in my heart.

That's RIGHT !
We're on HIS schedule.. not our own. Many people FAIL to make that connection, and that's where the trouble begins....

Sometimes a message from the Heavenly Father will come through the words of a brother or sister an they will say something to you that will leave you awe and you will know your prayers are heard . But we have to be always open, willing an ready to hear him .

I love that he said he wondered what he'd done wrong, and then later we know he didn't do anything wrong, it just wasn't time for the answer yet. So often I ask questions and I'm waiting for the answer, or when I need help and it doesn't seem to be coming yet, it's hard not to feel "Did I not listen well enough? Did I get the answer and miss it?" and then later, I'll get the answer and realize, like Elder Christofferson did, that there wasn't anything wrong, it just wasn't time.

This might sound silly but when he was speaking I was thinking of when you order something online. It doesn’t always come when you want it to. Many times our prayers are like that. We will ask for something and answers usually come later. Sometimes much later than we want them too!

I was just thanking our Heavenly Father about every thing that appears as a disappointment to me, this is because I know that they are actually blessings. I know He loves me and will not withhold any good thing from me...just as I was meditating I came upon this post. So timely. Thank you sir for affirming what I perceived in my spirit.

Wonderful. This reminds me of a message Elder Oaks shared:

"About 35 years ago, when I was president of Brigham Young University, we were making plans to persuade the president of the United States to speak at the university. We had particular times that would suit our convenience, and we had in mind some things we wanted him to say and do while he was there. But all of us were wise enough to know that we could not contact the highest authority in the United States and invite him to come to the BYU campus—even to speak to 26, 000 people—and put conditions on his appearance.

"We knew that in inviting the president, we had to say in effect, 'We will welcome you whenever you can come and for whatever time you choose to be here and for whatever you choose to say and do while you are here. We will accommodate our schedules and our arrangements entirely to your visit.'

"Now, if that’s the way a community of 26, 000 people must approach the highest authority of a nation, it should not be surprising that one person—however important—is in no position to put conditions upon or to impose personal timing upon a visit or communication from the Highest Authority in the universe."

I hear Him in the service of others, whether service is being done unto me, or I give it unto others, I am able to feel the Holy Ghost confirm to me the importance of service and love for one another as fellow human beings, as brothers and sisters within the Lord's Vineyard. #HearHim

Totally Agree Bro Christofferson. Part of the journey of personal growth is to wait on the Lord, and let his spirit teach us in the meantime ♥️

I love this. I served in the New York Rochester Mission a couple years ago, and the Sacred Grove/ Smith Farm, Hill Cumorah, Grandin Building, and Whitmer Farm were on the mission. I would definitely feel the Spirit, but often found myself look for big answers there because Joseph did, but usually found that as I was acting in faith after the fact, bigger answers and feelings would come. This is very wise counsel from Elder Christofferson.

There is a song, "Never give up, never give up, never stop praying. Might be delaying what God can do"
And this is so true! A perfect example of effort to meet the Lord halfway. We have to do everything we can too 🙏

Thank you very much Elder Christofferson for your testimony. Our Heavenly Father does not impose anything on us, why should we? Thank you for being the Lord's special witness. God bless you. (watching from France).
