How the owners feel that Maresca is a better fit than Poch is beyond me, then again I am not a businessman but a beloved fan of the Blues

Because if you squint he sorta looks like Pep. And if you really squint his team sorta plays like Pep’s too.

Sacked at Parma with a 28 win-percentage & got Leicester, a team expected to be promoted anyway, promoted. Hardly a glittering CV is it? 🤨

Chelsea job interview:
Boehly: Are you capable of saying “yes sir” to all our ludicrous demands?
Enzo: Yes Sir.
Boehly: The job is yours…🙄

So... Chelsea have gone from winning Champions Leagues, Premier Leagues and having managers like Mourinho, Ancelloti, Conte and Tuchel to having a shortlist of championship managers.

Man United have gone from Sir Alex Ferguson, Louis Van Gaal and Mourinho to having a Championship manager as favourite to take over.

Bayern Munich struggled to get a manager at all and have ended up hiring a relegated Premier League manager...

I think football is ill. It's a weird time.

He was highly rated at West Ham when Pellergini was the manager and Marcesca was on the coaching team. He was actually considered as a replacement for Pellergrini.

There's a manager recently made available who took a young injury-riddled side into Europe with 5 straight wins at the end of the season. He also has an impressive CV having taken spurs to a chamions league final in the past. He won 3 trophies in France with PSG as well. He's known for progressive, expansive football and was recently sacked by a club with a crazy owner who doesn't know what he is doing. Given this I believe mauricio pochettino would be the best man for the job to take chelsea forward.

I’m a Leicester fan and I’m ok with this, Enzo was alright for us but he didn’t exactly blow the championship away, we got a lot of lucky wins and he’s very set in his ways even when it’s not going well

Arteta played on the premier league and was assistant for 5 years.

Todd Boehly & Clearlake totally deserve a manager like Maresca. Zero Prem experience & underwhelming CV what could go wrong?

So Chelsea paid £13 million to sack Tuchel, £21 million to Brighton to get Potter then another £13 million to sack him and another £10 million to mutually terminate Pochettino contract, and now another £10 million to Leicester for Enzo Maresca. Damn!

I'm gutted to think that we ousted Poch because of disputes in player sales and him wanting to keep our academy players. That's crazy to think that's one aspect a manager should have the ultimate say in. He wasn't asking for more players but fighting to keep the ones that we have. He simply wanted more say in players which is a fair ask. Surely we should all have a say in what resources we have available in our jobs, same applies here. We've just pushed out a manager who was trying to uphold the club's culture. Strangely enough he was the one person who understood what Chelsea is and Roman's vision of having a brimming academy is finally being realised. The club has now embraced Reece James as the undisputed club captain (rightfully or wrongfully), we've put him front and centre of the team yet it was Poch's decision in the first place; now it seems as if it was always destined to be. Fans and pundits alike were pining for Silva or someone more experienced to be captain yet Poch understood the long term vision. He was trying to develop a homegrown/English-oriented captaincy and hierarchy within the squad with James, Chilwell, Gallagher, Colwill and Chalobah being the lynchpins. For years we were mocked for solely having continental players now we're sacking a manager for wanting to establish a fundamentally English core. He's given debuts to Alfie Gilchrist, Michael Golding, Alex Matos, Josh Acheampong and Leo Castledine, in his first season, more than any other previous manager, under arguably the most tumultuous conditions. What makes this all the more disappointing is that previous years under Roman we felt as if every sacking was ultimately in order to course-correct, in this case it seems as if we're just steering ourselves into uncharted waters with many fighting for the wheel. Poch knew the league and now knew his team, whoever we get would need another adjustment period. Plus even then, what guarantees would have that he won't be sacked for a above-average season? The entire team wanted the manager to stay. Even under the great Tuchel, Conte and Mourinho we had players fall out with them, not with Poch. This is the odd occasion in our history where the team had more faith in the manager than the board. If anything the player's opinion should matter most as they are the ones who work with him daily. Players can never truly buy into a manager's tactics now because their opinion is not valued by the higher-ups. Eventually the players will develop their own "player power mentality" since the managers will be an ever revolving door whilst they're the constants. Poch developed into a father figure for this young crop, helping them develop their games. That's what Fergie did all too well. He may not have been the "winning-mentality" manager we needed long term but he was the right coach for right now. The next manager will be likely be stoic and cold because he'll be fighting for his job from day-one, no patience for these young lads, he'll get frustrated and leave, then the cycle continues again. Just gutted.
