My Dad as a Royal Marine Commando spent a lot of time there, learnt the language and took on a ski instructor role. Telling us about ski ing down then walking back up in the snow all day long, so much awe ❤

I trained with the SAS and actually did this course in 1997 and it sucked HARD ! 8 weeks I couldn’t feel my fuckin feet but it made me a soldier that can turn off pain and weather and the elements I highly recommend you try this ! You will appreciate your warm couch and dry socks!

There is nothing beautiful about norway, the first time you visit with the MLs .im thr 90s the was no base we got to stay in a skiing village. It was still not a fun place. But it alll depended on which sgt and corprals you had. In thr 90s you colud have a great team or an alcoholic sgt or cpl, and then it wasnt fun. Days befor you cluld say you was stuggling, so you just drank.

I recall our final ex in morway, ot was the most disorganised week i seen on the core. Whem your cross country skings as a company, it would just grond to a halt. Anyhing bigger than troop leve movmentl, was just ridiculous.

The good oll saying of hurry up and weight, couldnt be more correct.
