Is running 50 miles a week enough? If so, I hope this video which includes some of my top recommend running tips will help you make that next big leap in your running. Focus on consistent training over 12 and preferably 16 weeks in length and you will make significant gains.

Remember, it isn’t just about physical training but mental preparation as well. The best middle to long distance runners are spending approximately 40% of their weekly volume at or below goal race pace.

I've been running for half a year now with weekly mileage between 10-15 miles and just got a 1:52 for my first half marathon.
I intend to train more seriously for my second half marathon in march next year. Gotta focus on improving my mileage now, let's see where it will get me

Really good to be relevant to what I am doing right now. Started running back in May/2020 and have been averaging 50 to 60 miles a week for 10 weeks at low heart rate for the most part. At this point in my training, would you recommend one speedwork session a week and/or running at marathon pace during a long run every other week? Thanks!

I used to do 100 mile weeks. I think it's a nice base to build up too. But, if you don't have the time or are not getting paid. To train like that. It's a waste of time. To do it consistently. It's extremely challenging too.

Is 50 miles per week enough to brake the 1.30 Half Marathon barrier? I have been running 70-75 kms/45 miles a week for 2 months now and set a new PB yesterday in a 10k race where I ran a 40.24. Looking to run my first Half Marathon race in 3 weeks time. :)

I want to break 3:10 my first marathon just did a 21 mile run yesterday morning 7:30 pace. Currently running 53 miles per week last Thursday speed workout 3×1000 3:53, 4:00, and 4:03 pace with 200 meter walk jog. Also have done 8×800 meters 3:13 to 3:10 equal rest. What do you think?

Thanks for the advice or information about how many miles per week should one run per week eg 50miles per week, as you said not too much nor to little, however my Question is does this not depend 😕 on age, I am 58 years old and very much injury prone please advice what should I do instead of strength training 😀

I know your not an expert doctor etc etc.. but just curious. I used to run 30 to 40 miles a week. I am now 47. When Covid hit my work has increased thus causing me to decrease my running milage. I put in 7 to 8 miles a day at my job, 5 days a week. I now run only 2 days a week. 10 miles onward per running day. Again I know your not a doctor but would you recommend I add in calcium, Vitamin D3, maybe protein or anything else? Do BCAA's suppplements really work??

Thanks for sharing your insights! What is your take on Jack Daniel's philosophy regarding VO2max workouts; that you have to run at vVO2max for at least 2 minutes, before your muscles are at max oxygen uptake? Thus, running 5 minutes at vVO2max yields only 3 minutes of stimulus...? Thanks;)

If a tempo run is 85% of max heart rate, is this max heart rate or average ? As heart rate will keep getting higher throughout run, im confused 😕 🫤 thanks!!
