this film went by the name
"Killbots" & was a giant flop;
then a maintenance man
casually suggested the name
"Chopping Mall". The title stuck
& the film became a giant hit!!!
The maintenance man deserved
a share of the profits!!!
Shot at Sherman Oaks Galleria,
same mall that served as the set
for many scenes in "Fast Times
At Ridgemont High".

Ah, a great bad movie...or is that a bad great movie? I can never tell. Anyway, this movie has: the great Jim Wynorski directing, the even greater Barbara Crampton, the even more greater duo of Paul Bartel and Mary Woronov, the wonderful Kelli Maroney, and Dick Miller, one of the iconic B movie character actors of his generation. Oh, and this flick also has killer robots. What more can one ask for?

I'm not really thrilled about robots, but just maybe in real life we should put robots into shopping malls, and then people will think before breaking into them and stealing. Kelli Maroney was also in the movie: Night of the Comet, and that was pretty good.
