Westgate shopping mall attack: What happened 10 years ago in Kenya? BBC Africa

Ten years ago, members of the Somalia based Islamist group Al-Shabaab attacked a shopping mall in the Kenyan capital Nairobi.

The ordeal left 67 people dead. It lasted for a tense four days. A thunderous explosion signalled the end of the siege leaving the attackers dead in the rubble.

i was 6 years old. i was driving with my mum near westgate. we managed to get out. i will never forget how dark that day was for kenya.

years later i still send love and light to the victims, family and friends who lost lives that day.

These comments are NOT it. Similar incidents have happened all around the world and I mean that literally. This was a tragedy and posting a remembrance video and for awareness to help stop these kinds of evil acts. Nobody is trying to make your country look bad, instead of coming for people who are posting about it you all should direct that anger towards the perpetrators in this attack because they chose to play this out and THEY made the reflection on your country to make it seem bad.
